Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

My 22 year old son’s favorite movie is RoTS. So he came into town for the weekend and we went to see the 20th Anniversary rerelease on the big screen. I hadn’t seen it in the theatre since it came out, so it was a pleasure getting to rewatch it with him. He was only 3 when it came out and didn’t see...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

This week’s books. Absolute Wonder Woman 7. The finale of a two-part story arc. Diana has to fight a Tiger to rescue her mother from the clutches of Hades in Hell. She’s given a choice of abandoning her mother permanently, or dying and being stuck in Hell permanently. But there’s a secret third opti...

Re: What'cha readin', you illiterate fuck?

Just started Hunger Games . I didn't realize it was first person. EDIT 1. On page 148. The Games just started. The first 147 pages are the events leading up to it, all the pageantry and whatnot. It's a 374 page book. EDIT 2. Got to page 244 with the "rule change". EDIT 3. Page 323. Withou...

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

It makes me sad this is the ‘final’ season. I know too much of a great thing dilutes what makes it great, but the sheer amount of untapped potential stories set against the backdrop of the Alliance/Imperial conflict is too great to ignore. Even if it isn’t called Andor this story needs to continue.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

I read the first three issues of Star Wars:High Republic way back in August 2022. Can’t recall anything about them, and my recap here was vague and made the series out to be uninteresting. So, picking up where we left off… SW:High Republic 4-8. The Jedi of the Starlight space station have been taske...

Re: Celebrity Death Pool!

One of the plot points of the third Godfather movie is that the Pope that lasted 33 days was assassinated by sinister agents within the Vatican who are working with enemies of the Corleones to disrupt a multi billion dollar deal Michael had made. Sounds plausible. We also forgot actor Nicky Katt. 54...

Re: Celebrity Death Pool!

The Pope. 88.

There’s only been five Popes since I’ve(I guess We’ve) been alive and two of them were before I was five years old and can remember anything. So basically three popes in my lifetime.

This week’s books. Absolute Flash 2. The ‘rogues’ continue to hunt Wally in the desert. Wally’s conciousness keeps slipping thru the time stream, so he’s experiencing memories and the present simultaneously( Dr Manhattan-esque) including more details on how Barry died. Then he gets a vision of two d...

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?

Last week’s books. Amazing Spider-Man 1. Legacy issue 965. I’m about 90 issues behind on Amazing. But I flipped thru this one to see what Spidey’s up to. Peter is looking for a job(isn’t he always?) and finds one at the Rand Corp thanks to a friend from junior high. But he has to cut the interview s...

1. How much you wanna bet that US based companies will start charging a ‘patriot tax’ because they think they’re missing out on all the “profits” other companies are making off of tariff surcharges. 2. I painted an Easter egg with the Ukrainian flag’s colors. Slava Ukraini. 3. Elena Eleniak’s luciou...

A MineCraft Movie. What the shit did I just sit through? This is the worst movie I have ever watched. It’s the greatest movie I’ve ever watched. I will never bother watching it again. I would watch it again tomorrow.

Re: Spider-Man 4 is dead; Reboot to follow.

One of the funniest things I’ve ever seen in a movie is in Spider-Man:No Way Home. Dr Strange tells the kids they can work down in the Undercoft of the Sanctum Sanctorum. They go down there and Ned reverently whispers ‘the undercroft…’ and then the dryer buzzes. That tiny sound element added at the ...

Re: Anyone give a shit about the Oscars?

Rejoice! After 100 years, the Academy is finally making a Best Stunt category. They won’t implement it for a couple years, but it’s long overdue.

Now let commence the reckless speculation on what retroactively should have won the award for all the previous awards ceremonies….

Re: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but...

The topic title seemed relevant. Joel’s Big Bad Toy Store sent out an email to all his customers about having to add a tariff surcharge to every order and pre-order. Being that toys and action figures are a luxury, I foresee the demise of businesses like BBTS that cater to that luxury. Who’s gonna s...
