It doesn't matter. Penance will save them all. Hopefully, he's mastered using his suit's power, or he might just use up all of his and wind up a general in Malebolgia's army.

I really can't wait to see where they go with that. This is the big crossover that's got pushed back twice now to make room for Civil War and World War Hulk. I suspect that Bendis has been brewing this since before House of M, Avengers Disassembled and even Secret War. It's gonna be crazee!!

They had to push it back - the Skrulls (or maybe Galactus) coming again is about the only thing that can force all the heroes back onto the "same side" - the old adage about the enemy of my enemy being my friend type of deal.

They'll crossover every book, get the old FF back together, bring back Thor, do it all just to beat the Skrulls..... and we'll be right back to square 1 in the Marvel U, as though none of it ever happened.

Well I finally started reading from my backlogged pile - here are some thoughts:

Captain America 26&27 - man, does this book pop. Great villains, awesome heroes.... hell, who needs the title character?

Daredevil 97&98 - again very, very good reading. Melvin Potter is fucked up - and as a comic fan that's the best way for him to be. Should be interesting to see how 99 and 100 shape up.

Amazing Spider-Man #whatever (Back in Black, latest issue) - I was no fan of Dark Peter in the movie, and comic Dark Peter is just as bothersome. I'll be happy when this is over with and we can get back to the regular web slinging and patty banter. I will enjoy seeing PP square off with Kingpin inside the jail with all the shitrats watching though.

I'm still so far behind.... next on my list is Illuminati 3, followed by the end of Planet Hulk (2 issues to read there) and the first few issue of WWHulk. Then I've got the 4 part FF story with Storm and Panther, then a bunch of X-stuff as well as AS Superman 8, and as soon as I can find Thunderbolts 115 I'll have that whole 6 part arc to read as well. Yeesh.

Playing catch-up tonight. I finally finished Planet Hulk, and have moved into WWH but am not quite caught up yet.

I also finished the Death of Cap limited series (or what were they, a series of one-shots?). Either way, Cassaday's art in the Iron Man book made me long for a Golden Age era Cap series, pencilled by him and written by Brubaker or Warren Ellis. Can anyone set that up for me?

I still have a carpload of reading to do. I think the only books I'm caught up on right now are ASM, the 2 Avengers series, DD and Wolverine Origins. :(

I saw that.

A lot of people are speculating that it's the return of Cap. But note the guy on his right (our left) is Namor, and Bucky's on the other side. Also, the fire behind him seems to be controlled, a la Human Torch.

It's an Invaders series of some sort.

Could be. I wonder why they'd put up all that Cap art... it's making me feel Cap's death was just another "trick" on the readers to make money. Am I alone in this? I'd rather he stay dead awhile longer.

Next you'll tell me that DC only killed Superman as a gimmick.

But they didn't kill him! Make no mistake, the spirit had left the body, and the four fill-in Supermen showed up, but he wasn't dead.

Okay, so he was. But Doomsday did it, not DC.

Next you'll tell me they keep bringing Doomsday back because they're out of stories.

Bah (again). I hate it, but comics are getting old. At least Cap's own book ROCKS ASS right now, and that in itself is extremely rare.

Completely unrelated: I think I'm going to stick with Wolverine Origins. Who knew?

The inside scoop is they are bringing a new, younger WWII Cap back who is more idealistic/40's values and playing up the "man out of time" aspect. Old CA had spent more time in our era than his own. Marvel wanted to rectify that...so I hear.
