movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.
CHUD have ran an interesting scoop on what could very well be the next Wachowski Brothers/Keanu Reeves project.
Apparently a reader from Berlin recently heard Joel Silver talking on German Radio about Ninja Assassin, the new film from the Wachowski’s protégé James McTeigue, which Silver produces. It’s claimed he said that the new film from the brothers would be a comic to film adaptation of DC’s Plastic Man, based on a script they wrote before The Matrix days.
Keanu Reeves will be starring in the lead role as Patrick ‘Eel’ O’Brian aka Plastic Man, and according to Silver, The Wachowski’s want Reeves involved in all their future endeavours from now on!
Plastic Man has the ability to stretch his body into superhuman shapes, not dissimilar too Mr Fantastic in the Fantastic Four, though it seems he has less limits to his powers, and also has a ridiculous name.
This sounds odd enough for the Wachowski’s for sure, and it wouldn’t surprise me if they went back to their roots with Reeves after their summer flop, Speed Racer, so this could very well be true. I’m not necessarily convinced this concept is anything that can bring The Brothers back into the studio good books with a box office smash, but I guess that all depends on the budget.
They will apparently be pushing for a late 2009 release, so I suppose a lot of this will depend on the success of The WB/DC’s other property The Dark Knight. It could still flop! Yeah…right!
The only reason I made this post - wouldn't Bruce Campbell make a far FAR better Plastic Man?

And from what very little I know of Plastic Man, he seems to be a bit of a goofy character.
And true, Keanu is goofy, but not the right kind of goofy. Bruce seems to be more of the ham-it-up kind of goofy.

Plastic Man? Seriously? Look I know all of DC's superheroes are a bunch of tools (save for Batman and, to an extent, the Watchmen) but fucking Plastic Man is getting a movie before the likes of Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, hell, even Aquaman?!

Funny you should mention Shazam!...
Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam! motion picture
New Line Cinema began development of a Shazam! live-action feature film in the early 2000s. Formerly based on a screenplay by William Goldman & Bryan Goluboff, the film, to be titled Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam!, is now being written by John August. Peter Segal (The Longest Yard, 50 First Dates) is attached as director, with Michael Uslan set as producer. The film will be distributed by Warner Bros., and is currently expected to be completed for a 2009 release. Although no casting choices have been made for Captain Marvel or Billy Batson, actor and former wrestler Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has agreed to appear in the film as Black Adam.
