What have you watched lately?

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Hell, they build their own damn highway for one of The Matrix movies (the second one?).

Just happened to read this discussion on roadway construction as I'm looking at the line item costs for my current project. I won't bore you with the details on the costs for building a new road, but there are a lot of "ifs" depending on the design, location, and existing conditions.

The road to vyn's butthole is paved with jizz. How much would that factor into the cost?

Wow. Now that you did the minimal work I was too lazy to do, I recognize that road. I've been on it! And the geography and timing (Coachella to Thermal to the 86) line up, too.

Now we just have the question of why, in the middle of a string of violent heists on deserted highways, the truck took the 86 (on the south end of the Salton Sea) instead of the I-10 (a much quicker and direct route to all points east, except for Brawley, where there's no way that many people wanted to buy that many DVD players (heh) at once... and also a constantly heavily traveled road). But cool heist action, amirite?;)

I'm not sure which is more surprising...That jjreason's post is actually more offensive than Bizzaro the Grip's, or fact that Bizzaro The Grin and Bizzaro The Grin joined almost 15 years ago.

I watched Casino for the first time in years (probably the first time since it came out on VHS). I mostly wanted to see if I recognized any of the locations in the movie since I've been living in Las Vegas for a long time now. There is a website that listed all of the locations used during the filming.
Oscar Goodman played a lawyer in the movie. He ended up being the mayor of Las Vegas for 3 terms. It turns out that he opened a restaurant in one of the locations in the movie. The only place I recognized was the golf course that Dinero's character lived on.

I was flipping through the channels last night. Not much on, but then I stumbled onto "Singin' in the Rain". I think I saw it when I was a kid, but didn't remember any of it. It seemed a little trippy for being made in 1952.

I didn’t see Singin’ in the Rain until I had to watch it for a college course and it quickly became one of my favorite movies ever.
The athleticism in his dancing is astounding. Donald’s too. But Gene’s...holy shit.
"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."

After we got a VCR, my father would occasionally go to the video store on a Friday night and rent 6 or so movies. There wasn't much method to his selection. Sometimes he would just get some random movie. One time he chose Warriors of the Wasteland. It came out in 1983, so it must have been 1984 or 85 when we saw it. It was so horrible, it became our family's measuring stick for bad movies. I don't think we finished watching it, but it was sort of a Mad Max clone.

Anyway, my father made sure we saw all of the movies he considered classics from the 50s-70s. Most of the time they were war, westerns, and musicals.

Watching Total Recall on TV right now. Sharon Stone got in at least 3 shots to Arnold's nuts over 2 fight scenes. The weird part is that each hit had its own close-up of his crotch with her and or foot hitting it. I wonder how many of Arnold's opponents got him that many times to the nads.
