Re: Big score........
Drove to Omaha, NE this weekend to visit their top rated Henry Doorley Zoo. I also stopped in a few comic shops. I didn’t get much, and only a few were out of the $1 bins. Most of the rest were cover price, and in a few cases, like $5 for a $4 book. But here’s what I got.
Avengers 43. From Jason Aaron’s run. I’m still ‘missing’ a couple issues, but it’s because I got the Alex Ross classic covers, and want the main cover to fill in the run.
Detective 959. Still need 962.
Black Panther 168. Finished the Legacy run. Still need a couple issues from the BP series after that one, but apart from his original 70s series, I’ll have every BP book.
CityBoy 3-5. The middle issues of a six issue DC mini. There were three series from a sub-imprint called We Are Legends, focused on Asian heroes. I bought the Vigil mini, but skipped the other two. This was one of them. They were in the $1 box.
DCeased 4. Found the variant cover with the Joker I was missing.
Domino 6. Finished her short lived ongoing.
Flash 52. Only missing 23 and 47 from the Nu52 run.
Flash Rebirth oneshot, 15, and 35 from the Rebirth series. Still need 22 and variant covers for 48, 49, and 60.
Aka Hellcat 15. Finished this Patsy Walker ongoing.
Justice League 23.1. Still need three issues from the Nu52 run, but they’re all ‘key’ books with $10-20 price tags.
Legion 1. Finished this X-Men mini. It had an asterisk by it, so I think I had a shit copy or a second printing or something.
Nightwing. Variant covers for 54, 55, 57-60, 67, and 83.
OHotMU:Horror 2005. Handbook with various horror characters like Dracula, Mephisto, etc. It was funny to look thru a Handbook almost 20 years old and see what was missing from their biographies.
Paper Girls 24, 25, 27-29. Found these in the $1 box.
Tim Drake:Robin 7, 8. I already had 7. Also from the $1 box.
Wildstorm:Michael Cray 11, 12. From a maxi-series that was a spinoff of a Wildstorm relaunch. Not sure if Wildstorm was in DC continuity this week or not. Still missing most of the series.
And two new books. Tom King has a new Jenny Sparks mini out, so I got the first issue. And a Nightwing Uncovered oneshot which has a collection of variant covers. They’ve done other Uncovered issues for Harley, Joker, Poison Ivy, Power Girl, etc.
Not a lot, but I plugged a few more holes in my collection.
In addition, I brought this week’s purchases and got thru most of them. Still have five or six to read, so I’ll post them tomorrow.

Re: Big score......
On Friday, I celebrated my first wedding anniversary. We played hooky from work; I took the wife to a Japanese sushi joint we often drive by but have never been to. Then we walked thru a couple thrift shops and I talked the owner into selling me an $18 Maggot Marvel Legend figure for $10. Then we went to the underwhelmng Beetlejuice sequel, before returning home and eating some of our year old wedding cake from the freezer.
On Saturday, I got up super early and drove out to the middle of bumfuck nowhere Illinois (aka Wyoming; the town, not the State) for the ANNUAL GARAGE SALE. I hadn’t been in a couple years, and the guy hasn’t had a show in the Quad Cities because the venue he used quadrupled their asking price for their conference room from $200 to $850. Anyway, I filled up a long box with 324 comics for $110. He has a deal where if you fill two boxes for $220, you get a third box free, but I could barely find enough stuff to fill one box this time around, even going thru the older stacks of boxes in his garage.
But I still made a few finds.
Also, I detest the combination of variant covers and frequent relaunches of titles. DC is particularly egregious about this, and there are several unintended additions to my collection based on this. I don’t want to bitch about it for every listing, so I’m just announcing here at the beginning along with an easily remembered codeword:Fudge. If you see Fudge, it means I bought books I already had because I have a variant cover, or the book from a previous run was in the middle of a later run and I wasn’t doing due diligence as I grabbed them.
Anyway, here’s what I got.
Alien 10. From Marvel’s newest series. Or one of them. I think they’ve already relaunched it three or four times in the short time they’ve had the Fox licenses.
Aquaman 38. Variant cover.
Aquamen 1 and 6. A newish mini featuring Arthur, and Garth, and Manta, and Jackson.
Astro City 1/2.
Astro City Dark Age:Book Two 2. I find AC Dark Age books ALL the time, but it’s always the ones I already have. I need seven more across the four minis.
Astro City 13. From the newer Vertigo run. Still a dozen left to find.
A couple Avengers issues from the All Ages/Animated series line.
Batgirl 7, 10-12, 14, 20, Annual 1. From the Rebirth series. Four more to find, including obnoxiously expensive variant of issue 23.
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey 19. Just issue 1 and 22 to go.
Batman Secret Files:Clownhunter oneshot.
I Am Batman 3, 15.
Batman Beyond 8.
Batwoman 3-5, 16. Only five to go from her Rebirth series.
Black Adam 5. Variant cover.
Black Adam oneshot. This might be a pack-in comic from a McFarlane action figure.
Black Lightning:Cold Dead Hands 3-6. Finished the mini.
Black Manta 5. Variant cover.
Bloodshot 16. From the ‘98 series. Two more to go.
Cave Carson has an Interstellar Eye 6. Just need issue 5.
Checkmate 5, 6. Finished the mini.
City Boy 2. Just need 1 and 6.
Curse of Brimstone 3, 7, 11. Just need the Annual.
Cyborg 5. Fudge. And I think I’ve made this same mistake more than once because both series came out in 2016, so in my notes it says ‘Cyborg’16 5’ and I keep grabbing the WRONG FUCKING ISSUE 5.
Cyborg 4. Variant cover from the new Dawn of DC mini.
Dark Crisis:The Dark Army 1. Variant cover.
Dark Crisis 7. Two variant covers of the final issue. There’s a third cover that forms a triptych that has Flash/GL on it.
Damage 1. Three more to find.
DC New Talent Showcase 2018. Yearly $8 book that only lasted three years. I have ‘16 and ‘18. Still need ‘17.
Generations Forged oneshot. Not technically a Fudge, since I got the alternate cover knowing I already had this issue.
DC Ghouls Just Want To Have Fun. $10 Halloween themed anthology.
DC Silver Edition Man of Steel 5. Reprint of John Byrne’s Superman reboot.
DC vs Vampires:All Out War 6. Variant cover. There have been one maxi, two minis, and a couple oneshots in this series. Don’t have any of them except this one.
Dead Man Logan 5-7, 10. Fudge. But that’s on me because I didn’t have it written down. Needed 8 thru 10. So I got one right at least.
Deathstroke 1, 9. From the second Nu52 series. Finished it.
Deathstroke, Inc 1. The regular cover. Had the variant already, but not a Fudge because I did it deliberate.
Demon:Hell is Earth 3, 6. Finished the mini.
Devil’s Reign:Superior Four 3. Less of a Fudge, and more of a safety assurance. Already had it.
Flash 60.
Flash 6. Variant cover from the current series.
Freedom Fighters 1, 6, 8, 12. Finished the newest maxi series.
Future State:Gotham 10, 11, 13. I didn’t have this written down, and I know I have other issues, so if it’s fudge thats on me.
Street Fighter vs GIJoe 2, 4, 5 and a couple Sub covers. Potential fudge because it wasn’t written down, but I needed 5 so I’ll call it even.
Gotham Academy:Second Semester 5, 8, 11, 12. Finished the sequel series.
Gotham City Garage 7. Finished the series.
Green Arrow 43. Variant cover. Fudge.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps RB and 47 variant. Fudge.
Green Lanterns 49, 52. Variant covers. One Fudge.
Green Lantern 8, 9. Variant covers from the current Dawn of DC series.
Hawkman 1(variant), 8, 27.
Hellblazer 203. From the Vertigo run.
Hellblazer RB, 1. From the Rebirth series. Finished
Hellions 1. Fudge. Thought I had a variant cover, but I didn’t.
Totally Awesome Hulk 22. YES! Expensive HTF first appearance of that wanker Weapon H. FINISHED THE SERIES!(and this wasn’t even the best find of the day…)
Injustice 10.
Inferior Five 1. Variant cover.
James Bond 007:Eidolon 9. Just need issue 12.
Justice League Dark 11, 25. Fudge. Don’t put Nu52 issues in the middle of a run of post-Rebirth issues, you tossers!
Justice League of America 13. From the Rebirth series. Finished the run.
Justice League 1(variant), 5(variant), 9. From the second Rebirth relaunch. I’m trying to get the main covers and the Jim Lee variants from the early issues, but I think I have a full reading run at this point.
Justice League Dark 2-8, 9(variant), 10, 13, 15-17. Both this series and JLOdyssey, I have a mishmash of regular and variant covers. My list says I’m missing 14 issues, but it may just be that at this point I’m completing full runs of both the regular and variant covers.
JLDark/Wonder Woman:Witching Hour 1. Crossover oneshot I already had. Fudge.
JL vs Suicide Squad 1-6. I already had these, but I know one of them was a bad copy, so I got some variant covers. Might have doubled up on a few of them, but I did it intentional, so not Fudge.
Kneel Before Zod 2. Variant cover.
Legion of Super Heroes 1, 2. Regular covers, so possible Fudge.
Lois Lane 3, 6.
Lone Ranger & Tonto 1. Need issue 2.
Nightwing 12, 14, 19, 22, 23, 27-29, 31-34, 38-40, 43, 45(variant), 61(variant), Annual 1. Minor amount of Fudge, but I filled in a big chunk of the series. Only 19 issues to go, and some of those are just variant covers I want. Also, issue 29 is an expensive Dark Metal tie-in(but that’s not the best find of the day either…)
Massive:Ninth Wave 1.
Mr. Majestic 4, 5. Still need 6 thru 9.
Majestic 1. Need 2 thru 4 from the DC mini.
Majestic 11-13, 16, 17. Finished the series.
Man-Bat 5.
Martian Manhunter 4, 5, 10-12. Finished the 2016 series.
Metal Men 8.
Miracleman:Silver Age 7.
Mister Miracle 12. Variant cover. Missing issue 1 which is expensive/HTF.
Monkey Prince 4.
Nextwave 4, 11. I always grab copies of Nextwave when I see them. It’s been almost twenty years.
Nightman vs Wolverine 0. Eh, might’ve already had this.
OHotMU 2, 7. The original series. Just missing 1 and 15. They had a couple copies of 15, but they were in rugged condition. Also, reading the bios from 1983 is a hoot.
Official Index of Amazing Spidey 6.
Old Man Logan 15. FINISHED. Finally can delete this series from my list.
100 Bullets 9, 47, 66. Still missing a majority of the series, but it’s not a priority.
Phoenix Resurrection 1(variant), 5. Ha. I knew I was missing some issues, but I never wrote down which ones. So of course I grabbed the ones I already had.
Powers 11, 13. Just need 1 and 4 from the original Image run. And like ten more from all the other series, but its becoming less of a priority.
Red Hood & The Outlaws 7-9, 11, 13-19, 23, 24, 25(var), 26(var), 27(var). Slight Fudge, but almost finished the run. Missing six issues, and most of those might just be variant covers I want.
Revolutionaries 2. RI cover. This is only the second issue of this series I’ve ever found. And I’ve been hunting for awhile.
Riddler:Year One 2. New mini written by the actor that played him in The Batman movie.
Robins 1, 5.
Robin 8.
Shade/WW Milk Wars oneshot.
Shazam 1, 4, 15.
New Champion of Shazam 1.
Shazam 1.
Silk 18. FINISHED!
Spider-Gwen 8, 24, 31. Only need 0 and 34 for a full run. 0 is just a reprint of her 1st appearance, and 34 is the final issue so it’s HTF. But 24 is a $60 book! It’s the first appearance of Venom-Gwen(Gwenom?) and it was just sitting there in the box. Definitely the highlight of the haul!!
Suicide Squad 6, 8, 8(var) from the ‘20 run.
Suicide Squad 10, 11, 15 from the ‘21 run.
Suicide Squad:King Shark 3.
Action Comics 1061. Variant cover.
Superman RB variant cover. Finished the first Rebirth series.
New Super-Man 8, 10-15, 17, 19, 22. The Chinese Superman. Still need most of the back half of the series.
Superman:Son of Kal-El 4, 7, 12, and a couple variants of 17.
Super-Sons 14, Annual 1. Finished the first series.
Superwoman 16. Finished the series.
Kid Supreme 3.
Swamp Thing 5(var), 7, 14.
Sword of Azrael 4, 4(var).
Task Force Z 4, 6, 8, 11. How is Bane a zombie in this series if he elaborately faked his death on A-Day in the Joker series? Can’t be both DC editorial!!
Teen Titans 8-10, 12, 15, 16. Definitely minor Fudge going on there, I was accidentally looking at my Titans list instea—wait. Do I have the first fucking appearance of the Batman Who Laughs?!! HOLY SHIT! I guess that Spider-Gwen is NOT the best find of the day…
Terrifics 17, 18, 23. Finished the series. Also, just above, I have the first appearance of the Batman Who Laughs.
Titans United:Bloodpact 3, 5, 6.
Titans RB, 8, 8(var), 11-13, 15-17, 23, 25, 26, 28-30, 33, 35(var), Annual 1. Major Fudge going on here, but I think I only have ten issues to go. Or less, if they’re still on the list because I’m looking for variant covers. Also…Batman Who Laughs.
Tom Strong and the Planet of Peril 4, 5. Finished the mini.
Transformers. A couple of Hasbro covers featuring Rattrap and Waspinator.
Transformers:MTMTE 43. I’ve been looking for a second copy of this issue for awhile, because under the first cover there’s a second “Cover E” variant that’s an homage to the famous 1980’s Justice League cover. And I kinda want to take the cover off so I can display the secret cover. But that would mean mutilating an issue. I’m conflicted. (I was gonna say I’m torn, but I’ll be damned if I’m gonna give any of you an easy lay up like that…)
Trinity 13-15. Finished the Rebirth series.
Truth & Justice 2. I’ve been looking for this series for awhile and the only issue I’ve seen is just the regular cover of the variant I already had. It’s a different cover, so not Fudge. Barely.
Unexpected 8. Finished the series.
Wastelanders Black Widow and Starlord oneshots. Now I have all five oneshots. So, finished.
Wetworks 5, 6, 9-11, 14, 21, 23, 29. Still missing 16 issues.
Wicked+Divine 26, 30, 36, 44. Still missing a couple dozen issues.
WildCATs 1, 1(var) from a recent maxi series. Green Arrow makes a cameo, so I guess we are in continuity this week.
Wonder Girl 2.
Nubia:Queen ot Amazons 1-3 of a 4 part mini.
X-Factor 4. Regular cover, since I got the Alex Ross cover originally. I hope. I guessed on this one.
X-Men 1, 13-15. Same with these. I’m hoping to slot these in where I had variants before, but I’m guessing on the issue numbers.
X-O Manowar 23. Definite Fudge. This must’ve been stuck in between some other issues somewhere and found its way into the box.
Apart from the three or four incredible finds, I’m happy to finish off my Silk and Old Man Logan runs, as well as a few smaller series. Now I have to decide which books go in my “current” boxes and thus get added into the pile of reading to keep up with what I’ve already read. It’s gonna be quite a bit. *sigh* I guess the G thru I box will have to wait. Or I could read those and then dig into all these books.
The Batman Who Laughs.

Re: Big score........
Not a big score, but I went to a different LCS today looking for just a few holes I was missing. But they were having a 50% off sale on back issues. Their $2 books were a buck and their $1 issues were fiddy cent.
Here’s what I got.
Black Panther 23. Just need issue 3 from the Coates run.
Black Manta 6. From the recent mini. Still need most of it.
Eternals:Heretic oneshot.
Forever War 2-4. Just need 1 and 6 from this adaptation of the novel.
Hawkman 1. From the ‘18 series.
Hellblazer 229-231.
Injustice Year Five 13.
John Romita Jr 30th Anniversary Special. Haha what? WTF is this?
Nightwing 30. From the Rebirth series(which I guess is also the current series). 18 more issues to find.
Omega Men 35. Only four more to find, including the expensive issue 3.
Prime 13-15. From his second ongoing. Just need 9 thru 11.
Rai 31-33. Just need issues 3 and 4.
Solar 43. Just need issues 15 and 60.
Tomb Raider:Inferno 2-4. Missing issue 1.
Tomb Raider:Survivor’s Crusade 2-4. Missing issue 1.
And the current books I caught up on were
Batman 153. Regular cover.
Avengers Assemble 3. Regular cover.
Predator vs Black Panther 3.
Venom War:Spider-Man 4.
Venom War: It’s Jeff! oneshot.
There’s a show at the mall next weekend.

Prime had a second ongoing? Was it also by Breyfogle and someone-or-other?

Re: Big score........
All the Ultraverse titles ended when Marvel bought Malibu. Then they relaunched significantly fewer titles. Prime and Mantra were the only two I can think of. Of all of them I think Prime’s second run lasted the longest.
So, the reason they don’t use any of the Ultraverse characters is because one of the guys at Malibu gets a percentage of the profits and apparently the guy is an asshole and Marvel doesn’t want to give him any love whatsoever.
I also skimmed that JRJr oneshot. He’d been with Marvel exclusively for 30 years. They reprinted his first story from a Spidey annual in 1977. They had a timeline of all his work over the years. It’s a lot! Damn. There were some unused cover sketches from various books. Then a bunch of other creators praise him in the back of the book. Sorta interesting.

Re: Big score........
The show at the mall yielded only 37 books. Except for a couple that I paid $4-5 for, the rest were $1-2. We’ll say I paid roughly $1.50 each.
Here’s what I got.
AAFES 15, 17. The US Military’s yearly Marvel comic. 17 was the last issue in the series back in 2014. I’m still missing 13, 14, and 16.
Batman, Inc 5. From the recent series.
Batman:Fortress 5, 8. Regular covers. I have half this series with variant covers and half without, so I’m not sure how much of the series I actually have.
Batman:Kings of Fear 2, 3, 5.
Batman:Reptilian 1, 2. Variant covers. Just need 3 and 4
Capt America Annual 6.
Flash 800. Variant cover. They had a $25 price tag on this, but it was in the $2 box…
Future State:Gotham 8. Again, I have some regular and some variant covers.
Green Lantern 7. From the ‘21 series.
Hulk Smash Avengers 4. Just need 1 and 3 from this mini.
Hellblazer 72.
Hellblazer Special 1.
Midnighter Annual 2021.
Red Hood & The Outlaws 5. Finished the Nu52 series.
Robin 1, 3, and 3(variant).
Silver Age Classics; Showcase 4 and Showcase 22. DC did reprints in the late 90s of key SA books. I’m still missing four or five of them. But these two were the first appearances of Flash and Green Lantern.
Suicide Squad 14. I’m not sure if I got the right issue from the right series.
Star Wars:Doctor Aphra 40. Variant cover, it’s just a black starfield with the logo in yellow in the classic font. Kinda cool.
Star Wars Poe Dameron 21, 22. Still need 24, 25, and 27.
Teen Titan Academy 3.
Thor 256. From 1976. Old newsprint smells awesome.
Ultimate X-Men 1/2 and 1. The original Ult X-Men first issue for less than cover price. Time and patience.
Venom:First Host 4, 5. These are the two I paid a little extra for. Still missing issue 3 which is more expensive because it’s the first appearance of Sleeper.
Warlock Special Edition 1, 4. Still need the other four from this six issue reprint series from the early 80s.
Wonder Woman 41. From the Rebirth series.
Oh, and I also got a Marvel Legends USAgent for $10.
One of the tables had a bunch of Marvel’s 70s reprint books like Marvel Triple Action, Super Action, Marvel’s Greatest Comics, etc. At $2 a pop, I’m considering going back tomorrow and grabbing some. But also, do I want to drop like $100 bucks on not mint, but decent reading copies? We’ll see.

Re: Big score.......
After 42 years, the oldest comic shop in my area is calling it quits. Tim’s Corner is closing their brick’n’mortar shop. They said they’ll still be doing local shows and selling on ebay, but it’s the end of an era. 42 years, man. Comic shops were barely a thing back in 1982. But with an ending comes great bargains. I went thru all their $2 boxes and came away with like 70 books. When I got to the counter, they said all the $2 were $1, so I went back and got a bunch more. If I’d brought more cash, I would’ve got even more. I might check back next Saturday before their lease is up on the 30th.
Here’s what I got.
Amazons Attack 1-6. A Dawn of DC miniseries from last year. The full series.
Batgirls 2. Variant cover.
Batman Inc. 4, 6, 11, 12. About half done with this 12 issue ongoing.
Batman:Dark Age 1, 3, 5, 6. Most of this miniseries from Mark Russell and the Allreds.
Batman:Fortress 5, 6, 8. Variant covers. I think I finished this midi series.
Batman: Off-World 1, 2, 5. Half of Jason Aaron’s BM outerspace adventure.
Batman:Urban Legends 18, 19. The last two Variant covers I was missing. Finished the series.
Birds of Prey 1, 2, 4-12, 14, and Variants of 7, 8. Almost the entire current run of the BoP. 14 was the All-In issue which just came out.
Birds of Prey Uncovered oneshot. Collecting variant covers. This literally came out last week.
Blue Beetle 11. Final issue of the most recent Dawn of DC series. Still need the other ten.
Captain America Annual 5. From 1981. Not great condition, but not terrible.
Cityboy 1. Just need issue 6.
Cyborg 3, 6. From the Dawn of DC mini.
Some Dark Crisis oneshots.
Dark Knights of Steel 8, 11, 12 and the Tales of Three Kingdoms oneshot.
DC Lazarus Planet:We Were Once Gods oneshot.
DC How to Lose a Guy Gardner in Ten Days oneshot. $10 prestige book for $1.
Doom Patrol 4, 6. From the Dawn of DC mini.
Doctor Strange 74, 75. From his 70’s series.
Fire & Ice:Welcome to Smallville 1-3. The first half of the mini.
Firefly:Fall Guys 4. The issue I had somehow missed.
Flash 786, 788, 789, 792-796, 798, 799 and Variants of 789, 790, and 796.
Flash: One Second War oneshot.
Flash 2, 3, 5-7, 9-13, Annual 2024. Most of the current series.
Green Arrow 4, 6, 8-10. From the current run.
Green Lantern 3, 4, 6, 9-12 and Variants of 3, 4. I’m only missing two issues from the 2022 series.
Green Lantern 4-8, 10, 11. From the current ongoing.
G.L. War Journal 3, 12.
Alan Scott:Green Lantern 1, 2, 4-6. Almost the entire mini.
Hawkgirl 2, 3, 5, 6. Just need issue 4 from the recent mini.
Justice Society 3, 9, 10. From last years twelve issue ongoing? maxi?
Marvel Team Up 61. Really old issue. In pretty good condition.
Robin 6, 7, 9, 12, and a 2nd print of 13. Only need three more issues.
Silver Surfer 1/2. Wizard oneshot.
Speed Force 1. First issue of a six issue mini.
Spider-Woman 11, 27, 28. From her 70s series.
Action Comics 500, 1032, 1034, 1035, 1039, 1042, 1048, 1053, 1056-1060, 1063-1067, Annuals 2021, 2022, 2023. Filling in the gap when I stopped after Bendis’ run, and restarted last month with Waid’s weekly run. And also the 500th issue from 1979. Neat.
Superman 3, 5. From the current series.
Superboy:Man of Tomorrow 1, 2. From the recent mini starring Connor.
Advs of Superman:Jon Kent 4-6. Another recent mini starring Jon.
Tales to Astonish 12. Starring the Sub-Mariner. From 1980.
Thor 259.
Titans 5, 9. From the current series.
X-Men Annual 8. Already had it. Oops.
AND he had a couple Official Handbook:Master Edition binders sitting on the counter. I asked how much, and he threw them in FOR FREE. I’ve never seen a OH:ME binder in person before. I’ve looked for them online and people want ridiculous amounts of money for them. And I got TWO. FOR FREE. That’s almost the highlight of the score. I probably need about 5-8 to hold my entire Master Edition stack.
There were a lot of books I would’ve filled in more, like the Superman, Titans, and Green Lantern:War Journal series. I reached my spending limit. But if they’re still open next weekend, I’ll go back for more.

There were a lot of books I would’ve filled in more, like the Superman, Titans, and Green Lantern:War Journal series. I reached my spending limit. But if they’re still open next weekend, I’ll go back for more.

Re: Big score........
Not a big score. Before I knew about the going out of business sale last weekend, I was on ebay looking at Fables issues. I found a guy selling Fables 100(a $10 book) for $2. I looked thru the rest of his items and found ten more issues for between $1 and $2 or a tad higher.
I got
Batman/Deathblow 2. Just need the 3rd final issue from this Prestige mini.
Flash:Future’s End. The Lenticular cover.
Fables 100. As I said.
HardC.O.R.P.S. 27. Still need 28-30.
Solar, Man of the Atom 15. Only need issue 60 from the first Valiant run.
Spider-Girl:Fresh Start. A reprint of the first two issues of daughter of Spidey’s ongoing. Didn’t know this existed. Neat find.
Strangers 17, 19, 20. Still need 18 and 21-24 of the Ultraverse series.
Superman’s Metropolis. A Prestige Elseworlds oneshot. I’m slowly finding all of the random Superman books, but it’s getting harder.
I also ordered StarLord 3 from the 1996 mini to finish that series, but the guy forgot to put it in my delivery. Had to message him.
Then, since I found issue 100, I ordered Fables 1-5 from a different guy. Leaving me just 7 thru 9 to find for a complete run.
So, not a big score, but plugged some more holes.

Re: Big score........
I have to go back & start Fables again because it has been too long. I have it in trade format but I'm not even sure how many volumes I have vs how many there are. ><

Re: Big score........
I read 10 thru 30-something a lonnnng time ago, and loved it. I’ve been filling out the entire run ever since then with the intent of bingeing the entire thing. I also have a full run of Jack of Fables, and I’m only missing a couple issues of Fairest. I don’t have the Wolf Among Us spinoff yet.
There are 150 issues collected in 22 TPBs, but the final TPB is literally only the final issue 150. The last issue IS a TPB sized issue.

Re: Big score........
Another dealer show at the local mall. First table I even stopped at was selling $1 books. As I went thru them, they were recent(very recent! Some of them were books that came out in the last couple weeks!) so I immediately dropped almost $100 on $4-500 worth of new DC stuff. Here’s what I got;
Absolute Power:Super Son oneshot. From the recent event. Also, Jonathan Kent is now going by SuperSon instead of (the other)Superman. I feel like that’s a step backwards for him.
Aquamen 6.
Aquaman:The Becoming 6.
Batman Inc 7. Just need 2, 3, 8-10.
Batman:Off-World 4. Just need issue 3.
Birds of Prey 15.
Black Adam 4.
Black Lightning 1. The new All-In mini.
Black Manta 6.
Unstoppable Doom Patrol 5. Just need 3 and 7.
Flash 8, 15-17. Wasn’t impressed with this run, but now I’m almost caught up.
Green Arrow 16, 19, 20.
Green Lantern 9, 12, 15-19.
Green Lantern War Journal 6-11. Just need 1, 2, 4, and 5.
Hawkgirl 4. Finished the mini.
Justice League vs Legion of SuperHeroes 2, 4. Just need 1 and 6.
Justice League:Atom Project 1.
Justice Society of America 11, 12. Need 2, 4-8.
JSA 2, 3.
Jay Garrick:Flash 6.
Wesley Dodds:Sandman 6.
One-Star Squadron 4-6.
Outsiders 2, 9-11.
New Champion:Shazam 2-4. Finished the mini.
Speed Force 5, 6.
Steelworks 2-6. Either I only need issue 1, or I finished the mini. Need to check.
Suicide Squad:Dream Team 1-4. Full mini, prelude to Absolute Power.
Superboy:Man of Tomorrow 4.
Superman:Son of Kal-El 10, 14, 16-18. Nine more issues to go.
Action 1041, 1043, 1049, 1063, 1068.
Superman 4, 12, 18, Annual 2023.
Task Force Z 5, 7, 12. Just need 2, 3, 9, 10.
Teen Justice 6. Finished. I think.
Tales of the Titans:Beast Boy 4.
Titans 9-18.
WildC.A.T.s 5-7, 10-12. Just need 2-4, 8, 9.
At the third table, I found 25 more $1 books. Here’s what I got;
Detective Comics 561. From way back in 1986.
Eternals 3, 5, 9, 10. From the ‘85 maxi series.
Harley Quinn 4, 6, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, 17, 20, 22, 24, 27, 28. Still need a dozen more issues from her Nu52 run, but that was by far the biggest gap in my Nu52 completion. Probably missing like 40 issues total from the Nu52 era now.
Lobo:Unamerican Gladiators 1-3. Still need 4.
Marvel Team-Up 106, 110
Rom Spaceknight 72. Oops. Might already have this one.
The 2nd, 4th and 5th tables, I scrounged a small handful of $2 books, or 3 for $5. Here’s the rest of score;
All Star Batman 1. Two variant covers.
DC Bombshells 10.
DC Presents:JLA. An $8 reprint collecting 4 issues of JLA.
The New Golden Age. A recent DC oneshot.
Empyre:Fantastic Four:Fallout. I have the Alex Ross Timeless variant cover, but I got the regular cover.
Legends of Tomorrow 1. An $8 anthology book that lasted like 5 issues.
New Champion:Shazam 4. Oops, got this one at the first table, and again here.
Supergirl 14. Variant Artgerm cover from the Rebirth series. Surprised an Artgerm cover was in the $2 bin. Also, I needed that issue to fill in that run.
Superman & Batman: Generations II 2. A John Byrne Elseworlds prestige mini. Finished it.
Ultimate Spidey 15. From the original run. Just need issue 1…which is super expensive…
Wonder Woman 3. From the Rebirth run. Still about 25 more to find from that series.
Apart from sheer number of recent DC books I found at that first table, I’d say the highlight of this score is the Harley Nu52 books, and that Ultimate Spidey.
But now I’ve got an extra 100 issues of back reading to catch up on again. Ugh. First world problems, amiright?

Re: Big score........
What’s the opposite of a big score? One of the tables at last week’s mall show said he had a store across the river. Last Monday, I went to check it out and it was closed. So this week, I thought I’d try it again, but on a Saturday. Closed again. (His actual closed days are Tues and Wed). That’s two strikes.
But I figured since I was in that side of the river, I could head to the second hand Lego shop nearby. But when I got there, it was all boarded up. Fuck, zero for two. So I backtracked to Mellow Blue Planet, another LCS on that side of the river, to chat up with Tim, the owner, whom I’ve known for a dozen years. His store is so cluttered and overflowing, it’s difficult to navigate without accidentally knocking shit over. He spent about an hour digging thru boxes looking for an issue I was missing.
So after all of that, I came home with a single issue; Hellions 18. Which finished off the series.
