Re: LEGO!
Took a day off work because I had to take my dad to a routine medical thing and since I had the majority of my day free, I decided to finally open Bumblebee.
It was a solid build. These kinds of sets amaze me because they have to figure out the aesthetic stuff, but also the functionality of making it sturdy AND transformable.

"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"
”It’s a grid system motherfucker. Eleven up and one over, you simple bitch.”

Re: LEGO!
I bought a Bricklink Brick Cross Station set on ebay last week. The guy lives in the next town over, so I saved $20 in shipping costs by arranging to meet and pick it up in person. Except he didn’t show and I waited around for two hours. He apologized profusely and We are going to reschedule for tomorrow. But, by way of apology, he’s throwing in a ‘Books are my Passion’ GWP set when I meet him.
Hopefully, this time will go more smoothly.

All my new Lego sets!
Bricklink is where it’s at! You have a matter of hours or even minutes to buy it or it’s gone forever. Except on the secondary market.

Re: LEGO!
Built my Brick Cross station. Have to find a suitable location in my Lego city, as I’m running out of room already. I didn’t add the train tracks on the back side since there’s no room to add additional track anyway.

Re: LEGO!
Bricklink Series 7 final five dropped today. They won’t be available to buy until February of next year.
Sushi restaurant looks awesome.
Also want the Frigate Fortuna to go with my Imperial Flagship.
Alchemist’s Hut if I can afford it, but not high as the other two.
Not interested in the Antiques or the little robot.

Re: LEGO!
Over the years, I’ve accumulated several bags of extra tiny elements from all the sets I’ve purchased. I’ve decided to start separating them out into similar pieces. You can see translucent elements on one side, technic over there, etc. I’m not even sure if this is all the bags I have. I’ve seen people with tackle boxes or something similar to keep the pieces in.
What prompted this was the idea of making a green space/park in my city with all the extra floral elements and tile elements as a walking path. I’m not big into MOC yet, but this is a first step. Getting organized.

Re: LEGO!
I took all the unused ‘green’ elements from all the new road plate sets I bought for my Lego city and built this green space. I need to find a base plate to stick it on. I made space for the statue from the 60026 Town Square set and the eventual plan is to build a sidewalk and a wall with an arched gate down at the bottom/front. And then use all the little onesie twosie grey plate elements I have to make a stepping stone path down the empty part. Then add the leftover flower elements in the bag at the top and pepper the whole thing in flowers and plants.
There’s also extra flower stuff(as well as streetlights and stoplights and stuff)in all those bags on the left that are also leftover from the road sets. But ripping them all open right now is an extra sorting hassle for later.

Re: LEGO!
I also have several older City and Town sets
7641 City Corner
40574 Lego Store
60026 Town Square
60200 Capital City
60233 Donut Shop Opening
60292 Town Centre
that I originally envisioned fitting into the tapestry of the town. But as buy more modular buildings, those smaller sets with their ‘facade’ design seem inadequate in comparison. Like, the “museum” from the Capital city is just pathetic. I can use the vehicles and other stuff, but the buildings are anemic. I’ve even passed on a couple of the most recent large ‘City’ sets (69380 Downtown, 60347 Grocery, 60306 Shopping Street, and the way overpriced exclusive 60271 Main Square etc) because of that.
So, for the one I do have, I’m thinking I could ‘expand’ the designs into something that would at least fit in on the side street, or just take those pieces and come up with something entirely new.
I was looking at ‘reverse corner’ MOC Modular designs on the internet. I’m intimidated to start anything, but I know it’s just trial and error and I should just dive in.
I have that BTS Dynamite set that I have no intention of building, as well as some smaller sets I’ve been given as gifts, like the Creator 3in1 Ukulele set. I also have some bulk bricks I bought years ago, so I have lots of extra bricks to build with. It’s just a matter of finding an inspiration and making time to start stacking.

Re: LEGO!
Last weekend I went to the flea market and got the Winnie the Pooh set, Sesame Street, and the creator fish tank for $100. The lady was said the Pooh set was $70, but said she would throw in the other two for $30 more.
My wife wanted the Winnie the Pooh set, but we never got around to buying it before it was retired. It was half assembled, but it has the box, directions, and all of the characters were there. 3 or 4 of the bags were still sealed. After a quick inventory, the only thing missing appears to be Pooh's balloon. I'm giving it to her for our anniversary next week. She already has the fish tank, but the lady threw it in, so I didn't argue with her.
The Sesame Street set reminds me of the Fisher Price Little People set I had as a kid. It is open, but it has the directions and the figures are there. I haven't really messed with it yet because I don't want to raise any suspicions until I give her the Pooh set next week. It is stashed in the garage for now.

Re: LEGO!
A journey that began six years ago; I finally found (most of)the parts to build this X-Wing set from 2007.
I parted it out based on the parts inventory in the back of the instructions. Which was wrong by the way. The inventory said there was 1 of a certain slope brick, and there is actually 4 in the build, so I’m missing three( you can see on the turbines next to the tan ‘handlebar’ there’s an empty space).
There’s also six rubber bands to hold the tension on the s-foils in attack/flight positions. I only have two of the six. The other part is a piece for the front landing gear.
But I had mostly parted it out way back in 2019, but it was missing a few key parts. Then we moved and the bag of parts got misplaced and I assumed they had been put back into the giant sorting pile. Then when I tried re-doing it, I was “missing” such a large chunk of them, I thought the whole project was fubar. But a recent search turned up the original missing bag. And here we are.
I also have the original 1999 X-Wing somewhere, and a more recent one that came out in the last couple years. Maybe I’ll build both of those and see how all three compare side by side.

Re: LEGO!
I went into the basement to find that old X-Wing set. Which it turns out I don’t have.(Why wouldn’t I have bought that?? I got TWO TIE Fighters, but zero X-Wings?? 25 year old me was a dumbass…) But I did find a bunch of other o.g. SW sets like the Slave-1, Imperial Shuttle, Maul’s Infiltrator, Landspeeder, Cloud Car, etc
I also found a ziploc bag with a bunch of pieces in it. No instructions or anything. By looking at the elements in the bag, I have deduced that there are two SW sets in there. One is 9498 Saesee Tiin’s Starfighter from 2012. And the other is a 75050 B-Wing from 2015. Not sure whether either one is complete. I’m gonna have to look up the instructions online.
