movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

It's the ambiance for me. The lighting, the look of the "stuff". It got me.

I wish they wouldn’t have made it so obvious that Taskmaster bites it early in the movie. Like when they’re standing in group shots, just have an extra wearing the costume stand in there for a take or two as misdirection.

But otherwise, this is looking pretty dope.

I still have a bad aftertaste from Black Widow which is tainting me here. Florence Pugh & that accent make me shudder. I will pass on this but there is a good chance I will watch Cap.

The interactions between Natasha and her "family" is what worked for me in Black Widow. The villain and main plot were largely forgettable.
Thunderbolts seems to lean more into what I liked from BW.

Everyone is saying it's obvious that Taskmaster dies.

Since they're known for full-on misdirection, what if they removed her from the shots for the trailer to make us bark up the wrong tree? Otherwise, it is pretty heavy-handed she's a goner.

I’m rewatching the Phase One movies I just bought on BluRay(to make sure they work) and I had an intriguing thought while watching Capt America.

Since the Red Skull’s weapons were devised from the tessaract aka the space stone, what if everyone who was getting disintegrated was actually getting zapped somewhere else in the universe and there’s a whole planet of WWII survivors, both German and American, who had to build a new society on a distant planet?

Watched the short oneshot “Item 47” on the Avengers BluRay. Were these ever supposed to evolve into anything? It seems weird to cast Lizzy Caplan, Titus Welliver, and Jesse Bradford in a ten minute movie and then never do anything with them ever again.

I think the One-Shots started as just fun little bits.
After Agent Carter became a series I feel like the intent for more was there, especially with Item 47 (which may have been a test run for Agents of SHIELD).
But I'm guessing the direction of the MCU didn't allow for those characters to return following the events of The Winter Soldier, but it could be cool to see them pop up again.

Going to see Cap:BNW on Sunday. Gonna stay off the internet until then. I hate random clickbait articles that give away shit.

My expectations were pretty low based on the trailers, but I enjoyed Cap4 more than I was expecting. The stakes weren’t exceptionally high, but the action scenes were decent. Mackie is fun to watch. I’m glad they gave Carl Lumbly’s Isaiah Bradley a supporting role. A couple of cameos I was and wasn’t half expecting. I liked they worked Dennis Dunphy into the movie. I know they reshot a shit load of the film, which makes me wonder what the original plot was, but the final film didn’t feel disjointed. And every part of the film’s plot is ‘borrowed’ from previous MCU films. Like they were rummaging in the kitchen drawer for leftover plot threads to tie up. I saw one review say that the film felt ‘safe’ and I can’t argue with that one.

My biggest peeves were that pretty much every Red Hulk scene you see in the trailers was 90% of what was in the final film. And the second cameo at the end of the movie, just seemed…off. Like an awkward last minute AI insert.
The stinger at the end was boring and unnecessary. Ohmigod, the villain is warning Sam about the multiverse? No shit, we as the audience have known the multiverse is a thing for the past six years and like 13 movies. I would much rather have seen a Weapon X tease(given the plot of the film), or even better, they announce the Vice President is Dell Rusk. I would've flipped my shit in the theater. Or have Deadpool show up with some random hero like Squirrel Girl for no reason whatsoever other than to fuck with the audience.

I saw Captured America: Side Hulk Sequel Brave New World today and really liked it.
Its my last favorite Cap movie, but that's not really a fair comparison.
After Falcon and and the Winer Soldier, I figured Mackie could lead the film, but I was worried how he would work without Steve or Bucky to play off from, but he pulled it off.

I still think McDonald's ruined Marvel's plan to keep Red Hulk a surprise by releasing the Happy Meal toys last summer when the film was originally supposed to come out.

And I still think Banner/Hulk should've shown for at least a cameo, if not for the fight, then offering to help cure Ross.

Started watching Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man on D+. Mixing and matching MCU and comics continuity into something new. A lot of ‘easter eggs’ that aren’t really easter eggs. They’re just characters pulled from 60 years of Marvel comics.

Finally got around to watching Deadpool & Wolverine. I know I probably missed a ton of references because I don't read the comics, but it was still pretty good.

Has anyone taken a gander at the “leaked” concept art from Doomsday and Secret Wars?
Don’t know how accurate any of it is, but there’s some fun mix’n’matching of characters and/or timelines in there.

They're cool but it doesn't really give anything big away. And based on the images, it seems like those are from Secret Wars rather than Doomsday.

Apparently they're legit, since Marvel seems to be a little pissed about it.
