Hey, look at this post from ten years ago where I make not one, but TWO accurate prophecies.Tom Foolery wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2015 6:14 am The unhappy truth of it is that Fox can legally sit on the property for another 7 years now. So even if they let the rights lapse, it'll be 2022 before Marvel gets them back. And then we probably wouldn't see an FF film until 2024 or 2025.
Disney bringing legal action is probably a mess they really don't want to pull the trigger on. They might be better off dangling some carrot Fox wants in exchange for the FF back. Or even pulling a Sony deal.
Or Disney could just buy Fox altogether. If they've got $4B for Marvel and $4B for Star Wars, I'm sure they can dig in the couch cushions for the treefiddy Fox is worth at this point.
I'm trying to think of what franchise properties Fox has that are remotely popular. Aliens? Die Hard? Oh yeah, X-Men...
Just got back from First Steps. I can safely say that Superman was good, even great, but this movie was Fantastic. So many great little easter eggs for the fans. They even gave cameos to the original unreleased FF movie’s cast. Everybody nailed their characters. HERBIE was great. And for the first time in I don’t know how many movies, you don’t have to have watched the last 20 MCU films and TV shows to get the plot. There is literally ZERO callbacks to any other MCU project. How refreshing.
A few minor gripes. Sue should not have gone on that mission when she’s eight 1/2 months pregnant. C’mon people.
Didn’t like Reed’s mustache. Not a dealbreaker, but just not a fan.
And Galactus looked video game-y. Like, I realize there’s no way to make him look ‘real’ short of putting a guy in a suit, which would’ve looked laughably stupid, but they’ve done it with Thanos and Hulk and Ultron and others CGI characters. Big G looked CGI. Don’t get me wrong, he was badass and I loved seeing him done right(and not a stupid space cloud) but still CGI.
Next MCU movie isn’t until Dec 2026.
