Re: LEGO!
Six posts in a row! Suck it, Grimlock! Where’s YOUR Lego set, you little bitch?
Found a neat trick online. Put your ugly yellowed bricks in a hydrogen peroxide solution and set them out in the sunlight for a few hours and BaBOOM…bright white Legos again. I have quite a large bag of old white pieces, so I’ve been setting them out while I’m at work and swapping them out the next day for another batch.
As I whiten them, I’m also finding rare/unique elements and trying to see what sets they are from, and if I have enough parts to recreate sets I don’t own.

"No Tom Foolery today, Ron. I'm tired of looking at your dreadful, speckled mug."
"Why do you hurt me in this way, Harry?"
”It’s a grid system motherfucker. Eleven up and one over, you simple bitch.”

”Ohhh, and no ship that’s NOT crewed by the damned and captained by a man so evil that Hell spat him back out could possibly have black sails, therefore couldn’t possibly be any other ship than the Black Pearl. Is that what you’re telling me?”
I might pull my Queen Anne and the Imperial Flagship out of the front room and set them up together side by side.

Re: LEGO!
Bought my wife the 2 Animal Crossing sets she wanted for Christmas. Bonus was that she wanted that free gift set, too.
I read that someone bought the Death Star using points. That would mean they spent $20,000 on Legos, or at least $10,000 on double point purchases.

Re: LEGO!
The minifigs for the Imperial Flagship and the Queen Anne are somewhere in a bag full of minifigs that were stowed during multiple moves.
I also have the Barracuda Bay set unbuilt down in the basement.

Re: LEGO!
Since you are so good at building pirate ships, are you getting the Goonies set? From the pictures, it looks like they did a good job making the exterior on one side and the interior on the other. Take note on that, Death Star.

Re: LEGO!
I am not a big enough fan of that film to drop $330 on that set. If it had been a straight up recreation of the ship I might’ve been more interested.
The JAWS set was a fun build. It was the equivalent of three unique smaller builds. The trawler was such a different build from the shark which was different from the ocean/base. The front of the trawler was problematic and isn’t as sturdy as I’d like. Some of the elements aren’t reinforced on the interior and if they pop loose there’s no way to get into the interior without dismantling the entire front of the boat. It looks good from the outside, but it is handled gingerly.

Re: LEGO!
I recently got a settlement from Facebook(we might all have, honestly) for a piddling $36. I got an email with a digital giftcard in it. At first, I thought it was a scam, but my wife also got a settlement amount(hers was only $17) that went directly into her paypal, so I clicked the link and got the card. Not knowing what I could get for a piddling $36, I decided to se what Black Friday deals Lego had.
First off, they have a promo where you spend 200 ViP points and get 1000 ViP points. So I did that.
Then I got a Retro Space Explorer set from redeeming some ViP points. It’ll sorta go with my two other Micro Space builds.
But, you gotta redeem it with an actual purchase. So I found an Animal Crossing set that’s 60% off because it’s getting retired. My wife is an Animal Crossing fan, but when they came out she said DO NOT buy me any of those. But I figured I can give her the figures from the set and just use the rest of the pieces for some MOC if I ever get around to it. With tax and shipping, it all came out to $41, so I used $5 worth of ViP and brought it down to $36 and used the Facebook card…et voila; free Legos.

Re: LEGO!
It only comes out to an extra $5-7. Every little bit helps, but most Lego purchases are several hundred $ at this point, so it’s negligible.vynsane wrote: ↑Sun Nov 30, 2025 9:11 pmDAAYYYUM, how did i miss that??Tom Foolery wrote: ↑Sat Nov 29, 2025 12:14 am First off, they have a promo where you spend 200 ViP points and get 1000 ViP points. I did another purchase and used more ViP points. I got the new Winter Train, a City modular Spaceship that’s retiring soon, and Horizon Dawn set for my daughter to go with her Tallneck. The freebie was a little cocoa/coffee shop that looks like a mug. It might go in my Winter Village set up that I will never get around to setting up.

Re: LEGO!
I got the City Bulldozer and Speed Lamborghini 2-pack for Christmas. Lego likes to hide things in their builds. The Bulldozer is pretty cool. The engine's pistons actually move when the tracks roll, but the only way to see it is if you open the hood. The blue Lamborghini has a hidden Italian flag on the interior.
The orange Lamborghini was a pain in the ass to build. There were a bunch of little pieces in the front end and rear of the car that had to be lined up just right. I found out a couple times that if you put too much pressure on it, the damn thing would explode...just like a real Lamborghini.
