Yeah, that makes sense. I have the sensor on top of the TV. She was probably slightly more centered also.

and you guys gotta see my christopher walken. it's pretty freakin' spot-on.

oh, and it seems that "O YES" has become the defacto sign-off for all wiimails.

My parade has V, Rollo, a Father Time, and one other I can't remember.

I started a Christopher Walkin and Rocky Balboa but gave up. At one point my Father Time (for the contest) looked a little like Kris Kirstopherson.

that's probably the father time that the missus made. and my "v" based on the one i downloaded from check mii out. i wonder how it determines which miis will wander...

i sat with the laptop with a few googled images of walken to work from. give it another shot with reference and you might get somewhere. or i can wiimail you my walken and you can work from that. or just keep it in your plaza. i find it weird that you can't edit the miis you download. maybe they show up as "templates" in the first screen of the mii creator, where it asks you if you want to start from scratch or whatever else it asks you. i never even looked at that button, but mrs. vynsane clicked on it once and it had a bunch of read-made faces...

that's awesome.

did you see the chuck norris...es... (chuck norrii?) there's one in particular that's spectacular.

O yes. I saw at least one Chuck Norris. We went through 10 of the 20 pages of Miis last night trying to identify them. There was a pretty good Paris Hilton. I'll make some more this weekend.

I got me a router finally.

I was going to go with the one you suggested, but Mrs A seems to think we need a top of the line, lightning fast one. We ended up getting one at Costco, which I've just verified is compatible with the Wii and will be opening later this evening. :)

There are several it could be. I'm thinking Carnival, Mario Party 8, or some similar collection of minigames I've not played yet.

Still, it looks funny as fuck.

The girl in the background bouncing like she's riding a frat boy really adds to it.

I'm totally fucking hooked on Mario Party 8. That is the best fucking game ever made. Well, close, anyway. Kung Fu is hard to top.

And I may be getting a wireless router this weekend using our new Best Buy giftcards (one of Mrs A's brothers always gives those for Christmas). If I do, I'll need to buy either the classic controller or a wireless GameCube controller.

One real gripe: The Wii is backward-compatible with the GameCube, but you have to use GameCube controllers. Given the way we (and most folks, I'm sure) have our Wii set up, it's not a good idea to use corded controllers, since you block the screen. I'm still hooking up the ol' Cube to play that shiznit.

However, a wireless GameCube controller would be an ideal solution. Trouble is, stupid Nintendo stopped producing the Wavebird. You've got to get a third-party controller. Reviews are bad, and my experience is that they're generally not as well-made. (In most things, I wouldn't care about the brand. But all my off-brand corded GC controllers broke within a year, and I'd rather that not happen with a more expensive wireless one.)

Still, I might get one, to play the classic games and one-player GC games.

But, then again, it's easy to hook up the Cube, and the classic controller is cheaper than a third-party wireless dealio.

Also, for the online points, if you're willing to wait a week or so for them, amazon.com has the 2000-point cards for $17.99, with free shipping. Makes the games a wii bit cheaper.
We bought a generic wireless GC controller from Gamestop. It works fine. We use it for Mario Party 7.

I checked my Wii parade. "Rusty", "Death" and a few others have shown up on my Wii. And apparently V likes to bowl. He's usually in the lane to my right.

Amazon's increased the price of points to $19.99. Still not bad, since it's a penny cheaper and no tax. However, they limit it to one card per order in spite of this being stated nowhere on the product page. I figure I'll order if I need to hit the $15 limit for free shipping for something else, but otherwise I may as well just order them through the Wii.

hah, rusty is just a little weirdo we created. death is in my parade, too. death, elvis, rollo and "old school" (i can only assume old school rollo?) take turns bowling against me.

victoria is in our parade too. she looks cute! (EDIT: that may be misconstrued... she's a cute little girl... i'm not a pedophile, seriously.)
anarky wrote:but otherwise I may as well just order them through the Wii.
wait, what??? you can order them through the console? where???

so what titles do (collective) you have? i got a few BB gift cards for my birthday/christmas, so i went over there and got a few more titles. i now have

wiisports
wiiplay
godzilla unleashed
spider-man friend or foe
metroid prime 3
mario and sonic olympics
spider-man 3 (got it today at BB for $19.99)
carnival games

i've played the first 6 already, though wiiplay and mario and sonic olympics were at someone else's house. carnival games looks like a fun addition to the "party games" like wiisports and such.

speaking of which, my wife ended up having a surprise birthday party for me last night, (which was crazy, i've never had a surprise party and had absolutely NO indication of it happening...) and bowling was a huge hit.
