It's Star Wars, you kinda have to see it in the theatre. Sorry but rules is rules - and you don't want to risk your kids have to deal with spoilers on the playground. Think of them. ;)

She thinks I'm jealous because he got to see it early.

I honestly still don't know if I'm going to just wait for cable. The last two trailers have looked good... but Revenge of the Sith and Attack of the Clones look like fucking masterpieces if you only go by the trailers.
Don't even get me started on the rock and a hard place predicament people put companies in with these sorts of requests.

And just use your kids as JJ said. I'm using Cappy's as an excuse to see it on the 17th so they can talk shit and ruin the movie for everyone else when they go to school on the 18th.

That's what people told me when I said I wasn't sure if I was going to see Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and Man of Steel in the theaters.

I'll see what the consensus is after the first weekend. I'm not even sure I care about spoilers. I can't not think about this as a "What If?" or "Ultimate" story.

I agree with Diabolical. Chances are I won't see it opening weekend, but I'll catch it soon after.

And, I might not be as over Star Wars as I like to pretend. My wife brought home some Star Wars graham crackers and it made me happy.

Honestly, that's why I'm trying to keep it down, so to speak.

I know I shouldn't be surprised by the endless line of Star Wars products, but there were a commercials for a Star Wars line of Cover Girl make up and jewelry. Not to mention Star Wars being used in car commercials.

Is it just me or does Kathleen Kennedy look like she's had her head slammed in a door a few too many times? Seriously odd looking woman.

One thing I've noticed about the design work on the new film is that JJ has a seeming obsession with long necks. Aliens, droids, they've all got insanely long necks. I'm picturing some childhood trauma where JJ was terrorised by Giraffes and Emus.

Watched TPM on Sat with my parents. My father never saw the prequels and decided to see them since I had the dvd. He texted me Sunday to tell me he watched ATOC. He liked seeing Yoda fight and the scene in the arena when they fought the beasts. I really didn't know how to respond. He will probably watch ROTS soon. He said he wants to start watching the OT next time they are here.

My dad also asked me to dig out the other six DVDs so he can watch them. After he watches them we'll go see it again.

I honestly had no idea where they were and scoured my stuff for an hour before I found them. I realized I hadn't watched ANY Star Wars movies in a decade.

I kinda want to go buy the Soundtrack, but while I was watching the movie, none of the score really jumped out at me that wasn't derivative of the previous movies music. Maybe I was just too wrapped up in the excitement of watching a new SW movie. I'll pay more attention on the second viewing.

I can't remember if it was already talked about here - but in the nbrhd of soundtrack, I really found the lack of the 20th Century Fox searchlights & drum bit disturbing. I love Rey's theme, I'm down for a cd purchase.
