Saw it once when it first aired on TV, so 1984? I couldn't even begin to tell you the plot. All I know is that it involved Wilford Brimley.

I don't think I ever saw them - if I did, I saw one & didn't like it enough to see the other one or however many they did.

The Ewok movie couldn't be worse than the Christmas Special. Right? I thought about it a little more. I have no recollection of Teek. In fact, I didn't know about Teek until anarky brought him up in a post in one of those "what figures do you want" threads on the other site.

Remember when ROTJ was considered to be the worst Star Wars movie?

That was never me. I always thought they got better as they went along until I was older & went back to them more frequently during university. It was only then that I realized the dialogue in ESB was far cooler than either of the other 2 movies.

Tom, SOTE and Darth Plagueis are two novels Disney will have to pry from my cold, dead hands.

A live action SOTE would be wicked. Or at least an updated game with modern TB processing power.

With the Star Wars animation seemingly being a permanent thing now, I'd love a SOTE movie.

I might be over the toys anyhow. I didn't even realize it was Toy Fair this weekend - and I didn't miss anything. No new articulated 3.75" figures on display, at least in what they've shown up until now. I wonder if that sub-line is already dead?

I just thought of something.

Obviously, Rey's parentage is of some importance. We're supposed to believe it's Luke and some unknown woman (cough, Mara Jade, cough), or possibly Han and Leia. Personally, I lean toward Luke.

But many have said this is too obvious, and a red herring. And the most likely candidate is Obi-Wan Kenobi as her grandfather. They point to Obi-Wan's voice in Rey's vision, and to the pretty cool (if true) parallel of a Skywalker training a Kenobi.

The obvious problem: Obi-Wan died a very old-looking 50-ish virgin. He pushed the rules to their limits, true, but he never broke them. That was part of why he failed at training Anakin; Anakin required someone more flexible. If the Jedi rules said no fucking, Obi-Wan didn't fuck. End of story.

But you know which Jedi I bet wouldn't be adverse to fucking? One trained by a future Sith Lord, who had an unorthodox "carpe diem" approach to the Force. Who would've been on the Council had he not broken too many rules. The man from whom Obi-Wan inherited the small rebellious streak he possessed.

The man who first learned how to cheat death and passed on this knowledge from the afterlife. If Rey isn't the daughter of Luke Skywalker, my money's on her being the granddaughter of Qui-Gon Jinn. And that would be fucking awesome.

I liked the Obi-Wan theory simply because of the symbolism. It recasts TFA in an interesting new light if you consider Kylo Ben and Rey are the legacies of the Skywalker and Kenobi families. Plus Rey giving Luke his father's lightsaber at the end is sort of completing a circle.

Plus Luke saying "Obi Wan is your father." instead of "I am your father" in Episode 8 is just the sort of oh shit twist audiences won't be expecting. And the original line Prowse spoke while filming ESB was "Obi Wan killed your father." so that's another little Easter egg for fans if that gets flipped.

My order of preference: Someone completely previously unknown > Qui Gon > Luke > Obi Wan.

I'd be fine with the Obi Wan, but I agree with Chux - it just wouldn't be consistent with that character to make a baby, as sad as that is.

Unless the explanation is amazing, I'll be pretty annoyed/pissed if Luke ain't her papa.

The Obi-Wan voice thing is crap - Yoda's voice is in that vision also.
