Marvel confirmed the rights to Daredevil have officially reverted to Marvel Studios. But they have no plans for a DD movie anytime soon.

The clock now begins ticking down for the Fantastic Four. Hopefully Fox will dither on that one as well.

Marvel needs to do Grindhouse-style films with 2-3 short films (40-45 minutes each) for the characters that can't support their own film and/or don't fit into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe.
They could still exist in that world, but don't necessarily need to be a crucial part of the puzzle.
Marvel could use it as a testing ground for a full-fledged solo flick.

I'm thinking maybe a Marvel Knights flick with Punisher, Daredevil and Powerman & Iron Fist.

Or they could do Avengers side stories with S.H.I.E.L.D.: Hawkeye, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Agent Coulson or whoever.

A Cosmic flick. Or a Mystical one. Whatever.

A Daredevil/Punisher movie would be badass. Those two are always getting in each other's grills.

I think they could certainly introduce Punisher as an antagonist to start either a DD or Spidey movie, then have them do the old enemy of my enemy is my friend by the end, allowing Pun to seque off into his own movie(s) later.

Dolph Lundgren, of course, is the only choice to play Punisher.

Thomas Jane. But I wouldn't mind Stephenson and Lundgren in some capacity as an easter egg.

Lundgren might make a bitching Tombstone. Yeah, I know he's an (absurdly white) albino black dude, but, still, I think it could work. Who but the most fervent fanboy would complain if they made him a Mafiya thug?

I've never seen either Punisher movie, the Dolph Lundgren bit was supposed to raise Diabolical's blood pressure.

All three Punisher movies were awful. The Thomas Jane version was the least awful, but setting your Punisher movie in Tampa Bay to get some fucking tax credit automatically makes it a shitty Punisher movie.
