I had a chance to buy the complete run of Ennis' MK Punisher series at SDCC last year, and I passed because it was late at the end of the last day and I already spent too much. But the guy wanted $50 for the whole kaboodle. I regret snagging it.

Another kinda copout, I think ( I'm fuzzy on the details) was also right before the Hero's Reborn reboot. In the Fantastic Four, Reed's father is some sort of time travelling bad guy/good guy and took Franklin and returned him as a teenager ( who had his own Fantastic Four team with their own monthly title) and Scott Lang was working for the FF and his daughter Cassie ( who is now Stature in Young Avengers) was sorta dating Kristoff, the boy who had replaced Dr. Doom for a time. Then BANG! Onslaught, Heroes Reborn, Heroes Return! And no mention of any of this in the comic when they restarted at issue #1 again.
Bob Harras is an ass of gargantuan proportions.

When the Marvel editorial team was split into four different sub groups instead of one main EIC, they had four guys sharing the duties. One for the Spidey books, one for the X books, one for the Avengers books, and one for what was dubbed 'The Edge' books like Hulk, Punisher, Ghost Rider, Daredevil, Dr, Strange, etc. Well in the Edge books, they had the Punisher KILL Nick Fury in some sort of crossover. Until someone realized that was stupid and SUPRISE, it never really happened.
Then they also realized having four EICs was stupid and promoted Bob Harras. Then eventually, when the company was in the toilet and on the verge of bankruptcy, they realized that was stupid, too.

Uhhhhmm...there was some kind of technical shenanigans with the website last night. That explains the post padding.
It's not really copouts, but I hate when one writer focuses on a certain character or characters and brings in people as supporting roles to enhance that characters story arc, and then the next writer comes on and unceremoniously dump all those supporting characters and start fresh. One example is the Nurse and her son who was romantically involved with Havok. Or Sammy Pare, the fish kid. Or that Japanese chick Bobby Drake used to date in X-Factor back in the 90's. Or Charlotte Jones, the cop that Warren was dating, etc etc. There is this slow buildup, usually romantically so you actually start to empathize with the two people involved, and then in one issue, they break-up or they are killed or whatever and never heard from again.
I hate that.
Another example is Nathan Lubensky. I'm not sure whatever happened to Nathan. They might have killed him off or whatever and that's fine, because he was old and decrepit. But has May ever mentioned him ONCE in passing conversation since? No. Why not?

Yeah, me too.
Oh wait. I don't own any of that trash from the late 90's.
But issue #s would be useful so I can pick up some back issues at SDCC next month.
adjectiveless spider-man #75. the same issue where spider-ben dies.

Oh hey! I DO have that issue! I remember Ben Reilly turning into a gooey ash or something as his cellular, molecular whatever disintegrated. But I don't remember the baby stealing part.

well, the baby was stillborn in that issue, it was revealed (just to the live studio audience) that the baby was switched out, i believe.

Here's a retcon copout that bugs the shit out of me. This never before mentioned childhood romance between Storm and Black Panther, that they retconned back in with a mini series RIGHT BEFORE they get fucking married. So these two characters who have both been around since the early 70's and haven't said more than two words to each other at all the big crossover Secret Wars/Infinity Throwdowns despite having both been born and raised in Africa suddenly are long lost lovers? I say Bullshit Marvel.

Never mind one hails from Wakanda, supposedly in southern Africa, and the other from Egypt in the north. Hell, Storm grew up as a pickpocket who would've had no contact whatsoever with BP, until she wound up in the boondocks, where, again, she'd have no contact with BP.
