Heard about an awesome easter egg.
When you first see The Collector Howard the Duck is right above him.

I've seen it twice already. It's epically quotable. I've purposefully not posted so you can experience for yourselves.

I want you all to watch it in theatres so we can discuss it. And I want it to make all the money for the next seven weeks.

It's good. Really good. Took me about an hour to settle into the fact that it just wasn't going to get serious - but it does..... just enough.... barely. I don't imagine I'll go to the theater again, but I'll pop for the bluray the second I can get my mitts on it.

"They got my dick message!"

"Dance off! You and me, Bro!"

"Thats a fake laugh."
"IT'S REAL!!"

"Your ship is filthy."
"She has no idea. If we had a black light in here, it'd look like a Jackson Pollock painting."

The Jackson Pollock line was priceless. Draxx had the lines that got me though, including this exchange:

"That's already been established."
"When did we establish that?"
"2 or 3 minutes ago."
"I wasn't listening. I was thinking about something else."

That J.P. line almost didn't make the cut. James Gunn thought it might be a little too much until he threw it into a later test screening, where it got a huge laugh. He realized that kids wouldn't get the joke anyway, so (thankfully) he left it in.

Yeah my thoughts exactly - first it was like "yikes" but then I didn't notice anyone doing the Captain Picard facepalm in the theater, so no flag on the play.

I enjoyed it a lot. It's not quite as awesome as I hoped (thanks, hype machine), but it is very fun. The first part of the film feels like Indiana Jones in the Star Wars galaxy, but then it starts to feel like any other Marvel movie. It was also far more jokey than I thought it would be. Gamora and Nebula are undercooked characters here and Bautista's delivery is flat and boring – more than it seems was intended. But the cool stuff is very cool.

I thought Bautista's amateurish acting actually helped his performance because the character is so wooden. When he said metaphors wouldn't go over his head because he would reach out and catch them I about pissed myself laughing. It was very meta.

My quibbles with the film: I thought Lee Pace's talent was underused as Ronan, which was a shame. He's a funny guy and Ronan was very one-note villain. Also, Ronan's motivation as the villain wasn't explained well.
I didn't like what they did with Yondu. I didn't mind Rooker's performance and the character was fine, it just should have been called someone else and not Yondu.
