Update on the 14 long boxes. Phase 1; alphabetizing, and Phase 2; bagging/boarding are complete.
Now commencing Phase 3, writing them down in my notebooks.
After that, Phase 4, entering them on cbdb.
Hoping to be done by the end of the year.
After that, I’ll only have the 12 or so boxes of post-Secret Wars Marvel stuff from the last couple years.

It’s going faster than I expected. Almost Four boxes done in one day. Might be done with the notebook stuff by the weekend.
Only thing slowing me down is figuring out what cover I have on many of these.
Used to be one cover for an issue. Now there’s at least 2, and sometimes 22. Fuckin’ bullshit.
I had a Painkiller Jane/Darkness series. I thought it was a mini series. Turns out it was a oneshot, and I had four different covers.

Finished the notebooks. Now on to inputting them on cbdb.
I have all the DCNu52 stuff from last summer to input, as well as the older stuff I just finished.
Currently at 48,565 issues cataloged.

In a continued effort to try & get down to under 30 boxes, I'm trying to figure out what to do with a few volumes right now. ASM past the end of volume 1 - keep or sell? New Mutants 1-100 (complete), keep or sell? I haven't really felt too much remorse over selling anything yet....
I have ads for my Preacher set & Ennis Punisher up, but no bites yet. I have Preacher in book form & would gladly buy the books of Punisher if I could just ditch the boxes of comics.

Where are you posting your runs?
(I'm hoping/assuming there's an American version/equivalent of the site)

For sure you'll have access to things like that.

All that’s left is 13 drawer boxes of “current” mostly Marvel stuff from the last 3-4 years. Everything from Secret Wars up until now. As current series are winding down, I’m starting an even newer set of boxes with the latest set of relaunches. Basically every post-Legacy relaunch book is in the new set of boxes. Theres a few straggler series, Moon Girl, Squirrel Girl, Star Wars, etc that haven’t restarted yet and are going in the old(er) boxes, but once those all end, I’ll be able to catalogue them.
But the new new stuff is another almost 2 full boxes.
Besides that, a few random Rebirth DC books, not even enough to fill a long box yet, and 1 and 1/2 long boxes of older stuff from dealer shows.
If you estimate about 300 issues per box, I’d say that puts the collection right around 60k.

I was perusing comicbookrealm (thanks Diabolical!) looking at various series and discovered an issue of Ultimate Spider-Man I’ve been looking for for the last seven years doesn’t actually exist. The 2nd volume ended with issue 15 and reverted to the original numbering the following issue with 150. I’ve had issue 16 on my want list all this time and couldn’t ever find it....

I’ve done that a couple times. There was a three issue mini that got downgraded to a oneshot, so I could never find issues 2 and 3 until I figured it out way later.

Hoo nelly. So I decided I was going to re-file everything chronologically, like I have for the last few years. It started out well enough - I had all my boxes with pre-Secret Wars books from various series down & compiled all of those finishing the box with Secret Wars & Secret Wars II (the intent was to be able to read everything for an event without having to pull from 20 boxes or whatever).... until I couldn't fit the X-Men in. Or New Mutants.
So now that box had to become 2... and none of the boxes I had pulled from were empty enough to be a great candidate. Commence the shuffling & stacks of comics everywhere.... about an hour later I was no further ahead & had to give up. It only took me about 10 minutes to get everything back into the old boxes & back on the shelf - clearly some things are meant to be left alone.

Found this to help with the sorting. Every issue, every publisher, every date, every key point about.... everything. Jesus.

I was gonna come here and ask if I should put the new Maestro miniseries in with the Hulk books in the “H” box instead of in the “M” box, but I knew in my heart what the correct answer was when I said it out loud.
