How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

I was just informed that we have Disney+. I've got some catching up to do on a certain tv show. If Solo is on there, I may finally get around to seeing it, too. But, The Mandalorian is going to be my priority.

I could’ve watched an entire episode of Adam Pally and Jason Sudeikis as Scout Troopers. I lost it at the casual target practice.

I'm calling it now: Mando is looking for Yoda's people. This is inevitably going to get him tracking Force history.
Way to call something they said right in the show.

No Solo until June/July when the deal with Netflix runs out.

Ok. I'll wait until June for Solo.

Just finished watching the first 3 episodes of Mandolorian. Its the best thing since Empire Strikes Back.

7 & 8 are just as good if not better. Power through 4-6, they're all just ok.

The show was a rush on its own, but it was even more of a rush to unabashedly love it & crow about it to friends without being concerned of over-hyping. It's the real deal.

The Prisoner episode kind of sucked. Some of those characters were just annoying. The shot about the Gungans was a bit unnecessary.

On my yahoo news feed there have been a few articles about how Rian Johnson and JJ Abrahams have basically fucked with each other's SW movies. I'm done reading them because I can't tell if they are serious or just trying to generate drama.

Yeah that was the worst one for me. Those 3 dont carry the main story forward at all & it gets a bit tedious. It's good the episodes are short.

i've come to the conclusion that i am not a Star Wars 'fan'.

i am a Star Wars lover. the originals, the prequels, the sequels, the spin-offs, the series'... i love it all, and just don't spend too much time worrying about the flaws - of which each installment has plenty, let's not kid ourselves. i don't even actively choose to overlook them, i just do because it's not worth my time to nitpick.

anyway, i loved RoS, thought it was a satisfying conclusion to the latest trilogy and a good bookend to the entire saga.

Mando has been fantastic, too, but i hate to break it to you all - if Rogue One taught us anything, it's that characters that do not show up in (chronologically) later installments are dead, so... sorry, baby Yoda fans.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

The producers of Mandalorian are annoyed that ‘baby yoda’ has caught on when referencing The Child.

Well guess what Lucasfilm, when you refuse to give the race that Yoda belongs to a name because you’re trying to be all mysterious and you refuse to give The Child a name because you’re being all mysterious, then you aren’t allowed to bitch whilst being hoisted on your own petard.

And I’ve been saying for thirty years Yoda’s race is the Whills. The ancient beings what kept journals and whatnot. Yoda is a Whill. The Child is a Whill. Previous stories be damned.

What they need to do is have Din Djaren (sp?) run into someone who knew, or at least knew of, Yoda. That character says The Child looks like the legendary Master Yoda. Din names The Child "Yoda" after the original. Problem solved.
