Yup, that would be it. I got two that say they did go on clearance.

cool - thanks, but it seems a whole bunch of people chimed in to say they found it at clearance also, thus disproving his point.

So I just happened to be in the forums over at brickset.com for the very first time and saw a topic about people buying the Fire Brigade missing bags of bricks from the set. They seemed to have narrowed it down to a specific lot# indicated by the tape on the box. So I just looked at the set I got last week; and it's that Lot. 39R1.

Balls.

I wasn't planning on opening this set until my kids came over around Thanksgiving or even Christmas. Now I don't know what to do. From the indications of the conversation, mod sets dont have bags of bricks that are numbered like traditional sets. So even if I opened the box, there's no way to tell if the set is complete.

Ha! I love it! I didn't even know this Star Justice set existed until a couple hours ago. And then I win it for $13.

HA, yeah, 'Star Justice' was a LEGO Factory set (LEGO DesignbyMe before DbM) that was put into limited production along-side the 'Space Skulls' set.

i know this dude called Fazoom was involved in its design and development, as were some others.

The space skulls looked kinda lame. I'm just stoked because its like a $90 set. Plus, now I can 'overbid' on a few of the guy's other auctions today and still feel like I'm gettin a deal on the entire bunch.

My 7993 Service Station arrived today. I've tried bidding on other older gas stations, but this is the one I really wanted, so I'm pretty happy. It'll be a nice addition to my expanding Legoville.

TRU was having a deal buster on PotC Queen Anne's Revenge. Normally, it's $140, but they had 25% off and an additional 20% if you use the coupon in the ad. In addition to the sale and the 20% coupon, I also had a $10 Gift Card, AND a coupon to receive another $10 GC on any purchase over $75. Essentially I got the extra $10 off and still had the GC. So, a $140 set cost me $73. Noice. 8)

And on top of that, I partook of their BOGO sale on $19.99 viddy games and got Lego Star Wars III and Lego Indy 2 for the XBox. Neither of which I've played. The last Lego game I played was Batman.

TRU had a surprise one day BOGO50% sale today only.
I got some of the kids' Xmas gifts today. A Castle Mill Raid set for her. A SW Sith Infiltrator for him. And 2 Creator 3in1 Hill House sets; one for her and one for me. ;)

I was thinking about buying in the store vs buying from the website. You don't pay shipping if you go over $75 (which I did, easily) and the website doesn't ding you for sales tax. It kinda incentivizes people to not support their local businesses. And they wonder why the economy is in the shitter and the govt can't pay their bills. I almost went the website route, but then I figured that sales tax money will hopefully go towards a couple schoolbooks or filling a pothole somewhere.

Last year, TRU hired a few bettys for their temp holiday staff. Some nice almost jailbait eye candy. This year it's all 40 year old fat women who lost their factory jobs earlier this year. Yet another reason why the recession stinks.

yeah, i almost convinced the missus to check out TRU today, but at least i got to target and grabbed 6 of those ninjago sword-jetpack things for $1.19 each.

meanwhile, here's the newest variation on the modular starfighter concept:

For NnoVVember, Tanuki Corp. has unveiled the newest set of modular subsystems, known collectively as the 'Mamushi' class.

To meet the varying defense needs throughout the multitudinous galaxies colonized by humanity, Tanuki Corp. has developed many configurations of its highly popular modular starfighter system.

The newest configuration in this line-up is the "Mamushi" class, a design that leverages the modular nature of the platform to facilitate lightning-quick weaponry changes, jocularly referred to as "power ups" by pilots.

I've got a question. How many of the modular sets has LEGO produced? (the ones like the Green Grocer). I'd really like to get most if not all of them but looking on eBay every other fucking listing is for a "custom" set.

Also, if anyone happens to go to TRU for the Black Friday sales, would there be any way possible to pick up the Aluminum Falcon LEGO set for me? I can pay in advance through PayPal but the BJ I've gotta give in person.

I wanna say six Modular sets have been done.

Market Street
Cafe Corner
Green Grocer
Fire Brigade
Grand Emporium
Pet Shop

The first three are fucking insane on the secondary market. People are trying to get Lego to rerelease them now that the theme is so popular.
The Cafe Corner and Grand Emporium are "corners".
Personally, I could skip Market Street, but CC and GG are wants for me. I just don't want to spend $1000 for them.

My Star Justice set arrived today. It's pretty cool, but I find it humorous that the "Star Justice" logo is very reminiscent of the Carl's Jr logo. It's as if Hardee's opened a fast food joint in Lego outer space.

From the same seller I also got sets
1253 Shell Truck and racecar
7891 Airport Firetruck
7242 Streetsweeper
7238 Fire Copter
7043 Fire Boat

All in all a good purchase. I've been wanting that Airport Firetruck for awhile.
