I don't think there's any overlap between CW2 and the Clone Event. Whatever fallout there was/is from CW2 has no impact on the ASM series.

Yeah I'm going to have to get started. Just Spider-Man stuff alone I think I have about 7 issues there with 2 ASM, 2 Prowler & now 3 from this series.

Poe Dameron Vol. 1: Very well done. This could be the spiritual sequel to Rogue Squadron. I'm interested in how Terex wound up with Tarkin's Carrion Spike.

Fantastic. Jim Cheung is knocking this series out of the park - incredible action but totally clean & "legible" if that makes any sense. Fantastic series so far. Now I have to catch up on ASM & Prowler before issue 4 comes out.Tom Foolery wrote:
How about that plot twist in Clone Conspiracy?? I love how hard Dan Slott trolls fans with his storylines. I totally approve. In hindsight, given the subject matter of the Event, it should have been soooo obvious.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
Books from 3 weeks ago, I finally got around to reading. Mostly.
Books from two weeks ago, I think I read 2 of them.
Last week's books are still sitting in the bag.
And I'm about to head out for this weeks batch.
And with Christmas(including shopping) and then New Years over the next two weeks, I don't foresee having the time to catch up until the new year.

Micronauts Vol. 1: Entropy
I've got to confess: I know nothing about the Micronauts, other than that they were a toy line, there was a Marvel comic that far outlived the toys, and one of them was named Baron Karza. I got this only because of Revolution, so I wasn't completely in the dark about the little guys, and also I'd seen a spoiler that their universe is tied to Micronus Prime.
I was impressed by how solid the series is. I have no clue how much is from actual backstory to the toys, how much is from Marvel (likely little or none, just going from the other Hasbro comics), and how much is new. But this is a universe that has a compelling story and characters. It's not More Than Meets the Eye, but it's better than all the non-Cobra IDW-verse G.I. Joe comics. I'll be back, and not only because it takes a moron to not see they're going to end up in our world, dealing with humans and Cybertronians in the next volume.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
I bought the first couple of issues then couldn't find #3 so I quit on Micronauts. I read some of the Marvel issues when I was much younger - they were some of my first comics honestly - but even back then the book had nearly nothing to do with the (awesome) toys. Marvel created their own characters to do battle with Baron Karza. This new series has nothing to do with those characters (as far as I could tell) and maybe a little bit more to do with the toys. I'm glad they did something ok with it.
This week's books:
STORE A
Civil War II 8 - which felt very much like reading "Previews", or some other Marvel solicitation. Not my favourite - that's the first time I really felt like they were trying to sell me comics within the comic itself - not just on the ad pages. Bluck.
Black Panther 9
Thor 14
New Avengers 16
Cage 3
Unc Avengers 18
Cap 8
Infamous Iron Man 3
Ex XMen 17
Uncanny Inhumans 17
Star Wars 26 regular & DEUCE VARIANT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD IT FINALLY HAPPENED
STORE B
Detective
Action 970
2 cheap Fury Max trades which comprise the complete series and a SHIELD trade by Hickman
STORE C
Wonder Woman 12 & 13 which hopefully will allow for me to let this title go.
STORE D (REALLY wanted that stupid Lost Boys issue before I had to resort to ebay)
Lost Boys 2
Spider Woman 14
Hulk 1
Dr Strg & Sorcerors Supreme 3

I didn't even go to the shop this week to bother buying the comics I wouldn't be reading.
Is this a sign I'm burned out on comics?

Could be. You've gone super hardcore for a really long time now. My interests go in cycles for sure, but I tend to try & keep buying the books knowing I'll be pissed off if I have to go back in & fill the spaces 2 years from now. ><

Transformers: Till All Are One Vol. 1
More well-done political intrigue with Windblade and the gang. The handling of Bruticus was especially strong; I was wondering if or how he'd ever show up.
I have a feeling Starscream is going down soon, likely to make way for whoever wins the fan vote for the next Prime.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
Yeah. Part of it is it seems Marvel has become stagnant with their storytelling. Can't let our intellectual properties stray too far from the "classic" and I'm reading the same thing over and over.jjreason wrote:Could be. You've gone super hardcore for a really long time now. And part of it is it's just expensive and I want to spend my money on other stuff. I haven't bought LEGOs in forever because I'm dropping $50 every week on new books.
I need to stop being a completist.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
I keep saying I'm going to jump off the new stuff & work on thinning out my collection, transforming big parts of it into trade paperback form via sales/trades/etc.... but it never seems to happen. Maybe 2017 will be the year.

Re: So, What comics did you buy this week?
Not having a reliable comic shop in your area is a good way to cut off. Believe me.
There's actually a new comic shop that opened a little over a year ago, but I haven't gone because now I don't want to mix floppies and trades, or invest in getting all these TF comics in floppy form.

Being able to just grab a trade & not worry so much about digging it out of a box & keeping it in nice shape for the few minutes it's outside its bag/board is glorious. I was never a guy for reprints of any type but I've been converted. Convenience wins.
