Great news: it appears the new "Punisher" series has been shitcanned after just four unoriginal, uninspired, limp-dick issues.

Until the eventual/inevitable return of Frank Castle, Marvel would be wise to consider the fact that they have another Punisher running around somewhere.

Looks like Scarlet. Is he at least a Belova or something interesting?

Rachel Cole-Alves was featured in Greg Rucka's massively underrated Punisher run.
She was a Marine Sergeant and the only survivor from a massacre at her wedding reception when a firefight between the Owl and a criminal group called The Exchange crashed the party. She sought revenge (naturally) and crossed paths with Frank, and the two eventually worked together, with Frank giving her some body armor with the skull. After being framed, arrested, convicted, and sentenced to death, she was freed by Frank and headed west, punishing people.
She's popped up a couple times to help Frank, but had largely been forgotten about.

They are doing a Red Band polybagged Punisher series later this year.
After the initial success with Blood Hunt last year, and follow up RB series with Blade, Werewolf by Night, Wolverine, and Daredevil(well, Elektra) they finally figured out who would most benefit from an R-rated comic.
And they’re bringing back the proper skull logo on his shirt.
Benjamin Percy hasn’t really wowed me with anything he’s written, but his books haven’t outright sucked either.

Maybe this is the real Frank this time. The one still at the bottom of Lake Michigan in Stark's custom prison.

The Red Band Punisher series came out. I love that Ben Percy brought back the white gloves and boots, yet still manages to make his gear look functional.
It makes no connection between the previous series’ finale where “Frank” ended up on Weirdworld and the beginning of this series, but it’s only the first issue. I could do without the polybag gimmick. The violence wasn’t nearly as graphic as the RedBand branding would lead you to believe was necessary. Tombstone was torturing some guys with meathooks, but nothing to make me say ‘oh shit! Good thing this issue was polybagged!’ It’s not nearly as graphic or mature as the MAX books were.
After all the Punisher misfires we've gotten recently, the bar is pretty low for a decent story, but this one had a solid start. I’d even say it’s the best representation of Kingpin in a long while also.
AND we are getting spoiled with Punisher goodness because there is also a Marvel Knights:The World To Come spinoff miniseries featuring an older Frank Castle coming out next month. What?? TWO Punisher books coming out at the same time?! What is this, the 90s?

A new Punisher ongoing series from Ben Percy solicited for February. It’s only 3 issues in, but his RedBand mini series hasn’t sucked, so I’m optimistic. At least the traditional skull logo is back.
