Re: Hockey '08-'09
Guess who had 2 goals and 2 assists against the Islanders in their first game back after being out for 10 months?

It was good for the league. What was NOT good for the league was your Sabers not standing up for Ryan Miller, then losing their big fight against Milan Lucic last night when it was finally time for another shot at revenge:

You're right on Crosby, but I don't have to like it.
I wasn't thrilled with the whole Miller thing, either. Can you believe there are some Sabres fans who are glad Miller got hurt so Enroth can start? Cody McCormick is probably the best fighter Buffalo has, but he is hurt. Sabres have been getting a bunch of injuries. They called up Kassian because Boyes got hurt in the Bruins game. Kassian is supposed to be pretty physical. We'll see how it goes.
Last week I heard Bob McKenzie suggest that the league goes back to the 4 division system as well as the divisional play off system. There are supposed to be meetings next month to discuss realignment.

Re: Hockey '08-'09
All they had to do was gang bang Lucic right after it happened and this thing wouldn't have been left to fester. That was a big bummer for the fans last night, who were (rightfully, Lucic is a prick) looking for blood, and the Bruins got a big lift. Those cocksuckers truly think they have the league right by the balls....
... and by winning 10 games straight, I'm afraid I have to agree with them.

NBC Sports (formerly Versus) had a documentary on the '72 Summit Series between Canada and the USSR. I only knew a little bit about the series before watching it. It was way more intense than I thought.

You know how bad the Sabres are right now? On the NHL Network's highlight show last night, they did a segment on how the team is falling apart and possible things they could do. The conclusion they came up with is that there is no "quick fix" for the team.

You know how the Red Wings are doing?
Same as always.

I'm a bit ticked at the Red Wings. Had they beat Washington last night, the Sabres would be tied for 8th in the East. The Caps haven't been doing well lately. It was their first win in Detroit since 2003.

I'm pissed at the Wings also. This losing skid sucks, but understandable considering the injuries. Get nice and healthy before the playoffs.

Lord Stanley goes to L.A. after a 44 year drought.
That was a serious beating they gave Jersey.

As I posted on Facebook...
Its a lot like when the Dallas Stars, Anaheim Ducks or Carolina Hurricanes won the Stanley Cup: Who gives a shit?

I've never heard of any of those teams. Truthfully.
It reminds me of when I lost a Grade School trivia contest because I refused to believe the Seattle Supersonics was a real name for a sports team.

I like the Kings more than the Ducks, Stars, or Hurricanes. Probably because they have some history.
Coincidentally, there is no more Seattle Supersonics. They moved to another city and changed their name.RoIIo Tomassi wrote:I've never heard of any of those teams. Truthfully.

Re: Winter Classic - Sabres vs. Penguins
Ironically (that was for Chux, I'm sure he's wincing) the SONICS Oklahoma City Thunder are in the Finals!
Kings winning = fine. Gretzky played there & came within one hot goalie of taking the Cup to tinseltown 19 years ago, so it all come full circle. Working in the front office for the Kings include 2 really great NHLers, one of which never got his own cup as a player, Ron Hextall and former Wings sniper (err, he may have also played a game or 500 for LA) Luc Robitaille. Oh, and no mention of Hextall would be complete without this video:
