Re: LEGO!
I don't know about exclusive stuff, but they've got lots of basic bricks and high end stuff you can't find in stores, and I think you can just fill a bag or tub and pay by weight.
I keep meaning to go to the one in Anaheim. I'd get 20% off (I think) with my Disney passport.

Re: LEGO!
Because Lego decided to do TMNT shit I gave the the nick cartoon a view. Mixed feelings on that. Part of me likes it (I hate that part of me) and part of me is wanting to take a chainsaw to the hands that wrote that clusterfuck.
The Lego sets don't really reflect any of the show besides including the characters in the sets. There again, Playmates action figure line doesn't really reflect the show either so I guess all they had to go on were production designs and episode briefs.
I was never a turtles fan back in the day, I was a bit too old to be caught up in the frenzy and never saw the old cartoon or subsequent movies and cartoons. Only Turtles movie I watched was 2007's TMNT CGI which I really liked and hoped we'd see more of. The tone of it seemed right. Now though the turtles have gone back to being an advert for toys and sundry merchandise. which will no doubt work well and make everyone involved pots of cash.
Getting back to the Lego sets, they seem empty. Much like most licensed theme sets. The turtles are split across the sets forcing parents to buy them all to get all the gang for little Johnny pester power. The turtle lair is seriously lacking in substance, the shellraiser vehicle is no party wagon and looks fugly in Lego form. Certain minifigs just don't work like The Kraang which looks nothing like the version from the show. Dogpound comes over like a shitty Crash Bandicoot rip off and I dread to think what they'll do with Baxter Stockman in his metal pod suit or how they'll realise Snakeweed and Spider Bytez.
If Lego want this to go more than one wave they need to up their game.

I have never read any of your posts, but from what I can learn I should say that for people who like the kind of posts you deliver, they are just the kind of posts such people like.

Indeed. I really am sad that Karai basically tells us at the end what TMNT 5 will be, and then it never happened.Jargo wrote:Only Turtles movie I watched was 2007's TMNT CGI which I really liked and hoped we'd see more of. The tone of it seemed right.

Re: LEGO!
the artist of that comic posted the original artwork (now that the magazine is "in the wild"). It's a little more clear, no glare:

Re: LEGO!
I like the orange team members but overall I'm not keen on the look of the theme. Especially the alien vehicles which are pretty weak. Plus you only get two types of alien. A mosquito and a beetle. I'll probably just Bricklink the minifigs I like and leave the rest.
Incidentally I got a warning on Eurobricks for disrespecting a moderator. ME! I wouldn't mind if I had but the warning was over such an innocuous comment. I'm seething. I also sent them a curt e-mail protesting about being hounded by multiple moderators. Bunch of power crazed fuckers.
