Simpsons Legos. Lego has been getting a lot of licenses the past few years.

Wasn't there a place on the Lego website where you could buy individual bricks or pieces?

These are being sold at the NASA Goddard gift shop in Maryland. Dunno if it's just a special run or they'll be available elsewhere. I've not seen them in any databases.

So, series 12 CMF will be based on The Lego Movie and series 13 will be The Simpsons themed. I'm pissed that these will maybe replace regular series. They should be separate to the main series. Especially the Simpsons collection. Hello Lego, welcome to 1989.

I can only imagine that the license was cheap as chips.

I guess the Lego movie series makes sense. At least they are still Lego characters. I'm not sure about the Simpsons characters. And if it does well, it opens the door for them to do every other license they own.
I like the system the way it is because there is stuff in each series my kids and I both like.

Exactly. it's a model that's worked for 11 series so there's no need to change it. I've bought approximately half of each series because I know there'll be stuff i like and stuff i won't but there hasn't been a whole series i didn't want. The movie stuff will no doubt contain figures I'll buy but the Simpsons? I don't imagine that show has much relevance to anyone these days. I find it odd that Lego would want an old and crumbly license for a show that hasn't been cool for years. Now if it had Adventure time or Robot and Monster or something I could understand it. Those are current and fairly hip. The Simpsons is about as current as Wacky races or Hong Kong Phooey. Actually, if Lego did HKP minifigures I'd cream my jeans.

I just told my older daughter about this. Here is how the conversation went:
"The next series of Lego minifigures will be from the movie"
"Cool!"
"The one after that will be all Simpsons characters"
"oh...."
She's excited about the upcoming movie. When I showed her the trailer a couple months ago, she was angry that she had to wait until next year to see it.

Oh, series 14 will 'allegedly' be based on the new MMORG game Lego are doing. It's got a lot of the already released CMF's as playable characters but also a load of new characters such as cloven hoofed demons and skeletons with purple hair and horns. That probably has at least some potential. The demons look pretty nifty.

if they did "Phineas and Ferb" sets/CMFs i think they'd be able to print their own money.
hopefully the Simpsons series is just a rumor. barring that, hopefully it will be a 'special release' series like the Team GB series from during the olympics, a sub-set that doesn't superimpose itself over a 'standard' CMF series.
i'm looking forward to the movie series and sets.

I bot the Bug Obliterator from Walmart to day. It was marked down to $27. It is a pretty cool set.
