Got Pellos Scramble or whatever his name is (he's only listed as "Rebel Fleet Trooper") to go with the three from yesterday.

Also got GH Barriss Offee on clearance. She was fucking awesome until The Clone Wars totally threw her under the bus and made her an incompetent pre-teen. Really, how the hell do they figure someone who's older than Anakin, smarter than Anakin, and became a Knight before Anakin is younger and dumber than his Miley Cyrus wannabe padawan?

WalMart is doing their great Toy Clearance before the Holiday stuff starts showing up. I got Sentinel Prime for $20 marked down from $50.

They also had a bunch of StarWars and Pharoah's Quest LEGOs but they aren't near close enough to 'discounted' yet to buy. Honestly, $127 marked down from $129? That's just asinine.

A muthaphukkin' Skystriker.

Had a "20% off one item" coupon from TRU and a "$5 off a $25+ purchase" coupon as well. It was $5 higher than Target, but the coupons more than negated that.

The 20% off coupon was being saved for Rodimus Prime, but no luck. It expired today. I hadn't seen him at the closer TRU's, so went to the Coachella Valley (about 30 minutes away) today since I've had good luck at the TRU in Palm Desert. Got there and the damned place is closing down because they're moving. Everything was 40%-60% off, the store was crowded and wrecked, all sales were final, and, needless to say, "OMG SALES!" mentality had set in and there wasn't a damned thing there worth getting. (Never mind they probably hadn't gotten any new stuff in months due to that.) I asked where they were moving to.... Now, the Coachella Valley is a rather narrow series of cities stretching east-west, rarely more than five miles "wide" north-south. The TRU in Palm Desert was located just slightly east of the center of this mass of cities. It's moving as far east as it can go, to the far side of Indio, a full 20 minute drive from where it is. (Seriously, any further, and it would be in a formerly abandoned trailer on the north shore of the Salton Sea.) And will remain the only TRU there. In other words, TRU corporate just wanted to send a huge "fuck you" to the folks on the western end of the valley (especially since it was near a mall and other things worth going to, and is now going to be beside Target and other common stores in a neighborhood Dr. Dre and Eazy-E were afraid to hang out in).

With TRU moving too far out to make it worthwhile, Borders closing down, and the city of Palm Desert banning any feeding of the ducks at their awesome duck pond (because they apparently, no joke, didn't count on a duck pond attracting ducks and those ducks shitting everywhere), the slightly-longer drive to the Coachella Valley (as compared to Redlands or Riverside) seems to no longer be worth it. Sad, as Palm Springs is a much prettier destination. But it's pretty much "two Targets, Trader Joe's, and Costco," which we can get in towns 10-20 miles closer to us.

This is more of a 'what toys didn't I get this week' but I was in Target yesterday ( I rarely go into Target because while WM and Kmart are about three minutes away, the closest Target is on the other side of town and its about twenty minutes to get there.) Anyway, I was in Target and saw the 3 3/4" Assassin's Creed figures. I almost bought a Leonardo DaVinci just to have him standing with my rather small GIJoe collection. Just because having DaVinci on the Joe team would be a huge asset. :D

Won the 2 Lukes I needed & Fi Ek Sirch on ebay for a total of $12 each. Tack on shipping and it sucks, but not as much as not having the figures I guess.

At some point I'm going to have to stop. Really.

I have no idea who these characters are anymore. Pellos Scramble? Fi Ek Sirch? I am sooo out of the loop.

Fi Ek Sirch is the stupid name for "Nikto Jedi". Why they can't leave the fuck alone I'll never know.

Pellos Scramble (and I might have the name wrong, I'll admit) is the old man Rebel Trooper--the first unmasked character we saw in 1977, IIRC.

How on earth can the names Chewbacca and Han Solo be righteous as fuck, whilst Pellos Scramble makes my hair hurt?

George Lucas came up with Han Solo and Chewbacca.

Some twit at a licensee (most likely West End Games) came up with Pellos Scramble.

Say what you will about him, Lucas has always had a gift with names. Well, until "Darth Maul" and "General Grievous."

It's Pello Scrambas. Not quite Pellos Scramble, but close.

That would explain why I could not find "Pellos Scramble" on the old googler.

As for me, I got a few Dinosaur Train and Toy Story 3 figures (Galactic Heroes scale) for my daughter, and, more importantly to this thread, the GIJoe 30th Anniversary Stalker, Steel Brigade, Cobra Trooper, Cobra Viper, Hazard Viper, and [Heavy Gunner] Iron Grenadier. Not sure how to use the Steel Brigade figure; I like it, and like the design, but was never a big fan of Joe "greenshirts" having better armor and equipment than the main guys.

I've said before and will again: the reason Cobra army builders are better than Stormtroopers is that they can continually improve the figure without making the old ones obsolete. They make a better-looking Cobra Trooper, and I can buy one or two or thirty and throw them in with the old ones, since they're all individuals and some customization for specialty (or even individual tastes) is fine. They improve the Stormtrooper, and you either have to replace all your old ones or have a weird-looking display.
