Shut up.

Interesting news: Nintendo is offering free silicone sleeves for Wiimotes, and start shipping them standard. I'm going to order some, because I can always not use them if they suck.

I'll order 2 as well, as soon as I can get the console number (which will mean getting the box open, which will mean needing to get Jodi out of the house for an hour or two).

I really want to play my Wii. :(

Damn, today I'm sad. Jodi decided that we should take back the Wii. Me, whilst looking at our bank statement quickly agreed. The money coming back is all well and good, but the emptiness.... *sigh*.... that might stick around for awhile.

Ouch. Sorry to hear that, JJ. Hopefully you'll be able to get another one soon. (They're looking to be HTF again. Of course, if you can find a McQuarrie Vader, it's probably worth more.)

Took advantage of TRU's 3-for-2 games deal today. We went to a store yesterday, and were going to get Transformers (which looks like a decent game, shitty movie notwithstanding), The Godfather, and Sonic: Legend of the Secret Rings. They were out of Sonic, even though there were cases on the shelf. We decided to go to another TRU today, since we were looking for some Christmas presents for Anarky Jr and some other kids. This one was out of Sonic and Transformers, but they had TMNT and Big Brain Academy (which she really wanted), so we got those two and Godfather. Probably won't get to play them for a bit, though. I'll let the rest of you (Zero) know how they are. I'll warn you: my tastes aren't always those of more hardcore gamers. (Like I'm only going to bitch about graphics if they look like they're from an Atari 2600. And I'll go to my grave insisting that Kung Fu for the NES is the greatest game ever made, with Yars Revenge for the Atari close behind.)

So far, I have:
WiiSports
WiiPlay (This one is really underrated. The reviews pan it, but we've honestly spent several full days worth of time playing it.)
Carnival (Still working on this one, as there are a lot of mini-games. Some are quite good, others not so quite good.)
The Godfather: Blackhand Edition
TMNT
Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree

BTW, looking over the list of games for the Virtual Console, it's still cheaper to get some the old fashioned way: on PS2 discs. Like the games for the Sega Genesis; most come on one single disc that goes for about $20. Food for thought if you have both systems.

Goddammit, I should've lost on purpose playing Luigi's Mansion so you'd be trapped forever in, uh, whatever the hell you were trapped in.

So, we did the "temporarily connect someone else's Wiimotes" deal today.

That could really be handled better.

You have to individually do it on each game, and if someone doesn't touch a button for two minutes (not too unlikely in many games), it completely "loses" that controller and it has to be re-connected.

Is that where you can bring your "stats" from a different console and smack other people around on their own system? I haven't been able to try that feature yet, because I only know one other person within a practical driving distance and we both work 15 hour days. So it's problematic.

I have vowed to kick his ass at WiiSports Tennis. I have like a 2200 ranking. My little line is actually outside the meter box and up in the title somewhere. I rock.

Nah, not the stats. Just configuring the WiiMote for one-time use on another Wii. Once it all gets set up, though, tennis is freaking awesome with four people.

Hmmm..how does the Wii know if the remote is from another system? Isn't it just pressing '1' and '2' simultaneously when you're on the 'home' page?
