I loved Million Dollar Baby. Great Flick. Man on Fire blows and I have never seen the Aviator

I paid a total of like $15 for all 3 (Black Friday sales, IIRC), so if any of them suck, then no biggie.

i'm pretty sure you'll enjoy the aviator. seriously, dicaprio is great in it. before this movie, i didn't really like him at all.

and cate blanchett as (a perfect) katherine hepburn and kate beckinsale as (a freakin' hot) ava gardner can't hurt either.

I've never seen The Aviator, but I hear it is good. I actually didn't mind Man on Fire. I wasn't too sure about Million Dollar Baby. It was a good story, some great acting but there were certain things about the movie that I really did not like; but I won't post spoilers or anything. I am probably one of the few people who thought the movie was just ok.

I really want to see The Aviator, too. Howard Hughes had such a fascinating, though totally disturbing, life. And DiCaprio, I have to admit, is a damned good actor when he sets his mind to it.

Vyn, have you seen Gangs of New York? I think that one more than made up for Titanic.

I wasn't impressed with Gangs of New York. It seemed like everyone was trying too hard.

My father-in-law borrowed and watched The Aviator. He said it was good, but they fudged and changed quite a bit of history.

I wasn't much of a Dicaprio fan until Catch Me If You Can. He was awesome in that (with the exception of him playing a 13-year-old in one scene). He was good in The Basketball Diaries, but I figured that was a fluke. Then he totally blew me away in The Departed - everyone involved in that movie deserved an award of some kind (Oscar, Golden Globe, whatever).

seen bits and pieces. another movie my brother constantly harasses me to see in its entirety. and i wasn't a fan of his long before titanic, thought that on clinched it for me for a good 10 years or so.

definitely. that movie was so freakin' good he couldn't not be good. and walken was awesome too. "where ya goin' frank?"

Then he totally blew me away in The Departed.

he's hardly the most noteworthy performance in that movie, though. i thought matt damon was really good in that one. and of course jack was freakin' fantastic. did you know he ad-libbed that line "she fell funny"?

Nicholson and Wahlberg owned "The Departed". I've never thought DiCaprio was a bad actor (Jesus, we haven't even mentioned "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" yet), but I think everyone just got sick of him for about five years after "Titanic". Though I never really cared for "The Aviator". It was a bit boring for my taste.

I really enjoyed Gangs of New York. After my first viewing I thought it was just alright, because of the anti-climatic ending, but the more I watched the movie thereafter, the more I became to really like it. I was actually fishing for a Butcher Bill avatar a couple of days ago but decided to go with Duncan.

Leo is a fantastic actor. He was amazing in The Departed, as was everyone else. I thought Marky Mark even did a fantastic job in that one. Leo's performance in Blood Diamond was just phenomenal though. The two performances he gave in 2006 were incredible.

I thought Gangs of New York was a pretty solid movie up until the end. It was a big let down to me. The whole movie built up to a supposed ending that never happened.

Watched No Country for Old Men today, and 3:10 to Yuma, both of which are must adds to my Favorites of '07 list. I also watched Saw IV, twice actually, the past couple of days and this one needs to be added to my Favorites list as well. So here is an updated list (in no particular order):

I see. It wasn't until Jan. 12th of '07 when it got it's wide release in the States, so that threw me off. Still a movie I need to watch though, that, and Flags of Our Fathers. Hmm... maybe I'll use those for the challenge.
