I think Rey Skywalker (check the shots comparing her eyes with Luke's at the end as well as the brief appearance of Luke's theme when she was onscreen at one point) was certainly involved in the training and was progressing very nicely. She had her memory blocked for her own safety and Kylo's probing removed the block to her power, but not her memory. Luke will tell her this right when he discloses he's her father early in EpVIII.

This is "obvious" in a way, but we're kind of avoiding looking at it because Jedi are supposed to live a certain way (no wives, no kids) - but we saw Anakin falter here and I'm sure Luke did the same.

I guess the Disney Infinity game just deleted a part where Rylo refers to Rey as his cousin.

Also, rather unrelated, but you know what I'd love to see in Episode VIII? Well, you know how the ghost of Obi-Wan was going to fight Vader in V? And then the ghosts of Obi-Wan and Yoda would help Luke in VI? And Qui-Gon was supposed to do shit from beyond the grave? And now we know Hayden was planned at one point to return as a weird Anakin/Vader hybrid ghost in VII (which honestly makes no fucking sense; was the guy redeemed or what?)?

I want full-on Force ghost madness. I want Qui-Gon, I want Yoda, I want Obi-Wan, I want Anakin. Hell, I want Darth Maul and Darth Sidious and Count Dooku if there's any fucking way to do it. I want them to finally have some batshit scene or subplot involving ghosts. God knows it's been written out of the script many times already.

I'd be totally fine with no more Force ghosts, unless they get Ewan McGregor to do an Obi-Wan movie.

The only Vader I was hoping for was in the Bespin part of Rey's vision.

I'm on the no ghosts side as well, though I think it might be interesting in a different setting - comics first & foremost.

Watching the Saga in order makes the Force Ghosts seem an oddity and contrivance. Other than Ben's voice in IV you don't see one until V and VI and that's just for plot device and exposition.
Wouldn't it be great if they weren't actually Force Ghosts but just Luke hallucinations.

It could explain the anger. First Slip dies, then 2187 goes rogue. If I were Nines or Zeroes, my world would be a little fucked up.

He also recognizes him damn fast. Yes, they'd be briefed with the holo of their target. But the "Traitor!" is so immediate and visceral.

The memes are funny, though.

Yeah, I don't get why everyone latched onto that particular part of the movie and turned it into a meme. Most of them aren't even that funny.
