Well eventually they'll completely devalue the idea of a first issue - if it hasn't happened already. I can't be the only one that said "fuck it" when they cancelled Amazing & Uncanny... and there will be more & more of us as they continue with the relaunches.

Given that each #1 would theoretically represent a jumping-on point, each would also just as easily represent a jumping-off point, as evidenced by your dropping of Uncanny X-Men after buying tons of comics you said you didn't like just to have the whole set. The more jumping-off points they create, the more readers they'll lose. And they're not marketing them to anyone outside the comics community, so there won't be new readers to replace them.

Not only that, but it's misleading. That's not really the first Avengers issue. Even if it has a giant "1" on the cover. There were 700+ issues before that one, and with them 50 years of backstory.

I foresee some poor bastard 20 years from now, collecting back issues of a series and thinking he has a complete run, and he really has partial runs of like four or five series.

I'm going to have to admit, even not giving much of a shit about Marvel anymore and being relatively unfamiliar with Dan Slott, I'm quite intrigued by the Silver Surfer title. The cover looks excellent, and the approach sounds novel and fun--definitely not what we expect from this character.

I was surprised to see so much hatred for Allred, though. Dude is awesome.

Me, Jokingly wrote:For some reason, Black Panther, Dr. Strange, Darkhawk, Deathlok, Moon Knight, Power Pack, and the Sub-Mariner didn't rate? Because I believe everybody else who's ever had an ongoing is getting one or has one right now. They are literally throwing EVERYTHING at the wall to see what sticks.
Warren Ellis is doing a Moon Knight series.
And an All New Ms. Marvel is coming to racks as well.
That quote above was semi-jokeative, but I'd not be surprised if one or more of those books gets announced soon.

Wolverine, after only a year is getting cancelled and relaunched yet again. It'll be his seventh eighth ninth ongoing.

Also, WaX-Men and DD are ending, which leaves Hawkeye as the sole pre-Marvel NOW! Book on the publishing schedule. Marvel will have no series thats over a year old. And the only books that are in the 20s number wise are only because books like Avengers, Superior Otto, and All New X-Men were on double shipping schedules.

Marvel is killing off Wolverine (which proves yet again they troll this site like a muthahphuq).

While not implicitly stating so, they're making a huge fucking deal of Wolverine 12...which doesn't even come out until Sept 2014(don't confuse it with Wolverine 12 which is on sale now. That's the 12th issue from the Marvel NOW! Series which is getting canceled and relaunched during All New Marvel NOW! starting next year. Confused? Welcome to Marvel's new corn holing solicitation schedule. It's here to stay.)

Yeah so anyway what with them making a big deal of Wolverine losing his healing factor and now being "mortal" they're making fans and retailers aware of an issue almost a year in advance. And even doing some retailer promotion of returning unsold copies of Wolverine 1 in exchange for limited Variant copies of 12 when it drops.

Anyone still doubt Marvel has this website bookmarked? You'll know for certain when they bring Wolverine back a couple years later in a 'THE Wolverine' ongoing with a re-amnesia-ified Logan.

Gawd, not that atrociously absurd character created by Audrey, Child of Jeph, Loeb? Repugnant shit.

Ugh. I had no idea there was a Blue Hulk, even if it isn't in the 616 (yet).

Add Iron Fist and Doop(Doop?! Of all..."people"?!) to the list characters getting ongoing series.
And Hulk is getting canceled and relaunched.

Oh. And also the return of
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN!!!!!

Let me guess - April/May - when there is absolutely nothing Spider-Man related that could possibly influence what happens in the comics.

I was impressed by the GotG trailer, so much that I wanted to check out some of the comics.

And I found that, in anticipation of the new movie, Marvel took all their GotG trade paperbacks out of print. :frus:

Luckily, they're releasing new collections to tie in with the movie. They come out four days after the movie hits.

So much for reading up before I go to the theater. Really shitty logic on Marvel's part.
