Re: So, what toys did you buy or get this week?
I was at the flea market and bought a big box of baseball cards for $20. I could tell that most of them were from the late 80s-early 90s. Even though that era of cards aren't that valuable, about 20% of the box appeared to be 1988 Fleer. Yes, that set has a Ken Griffey Jr.'s rookie card, but I have it and isn't worth that much. I bought it because that set has the Billy Ripken card where "Fuck Face" is written on the knob of his bat.
So I just did my initial sorting of the cards, and didn't see Griffey or Fuck Face. There ended up being a few cool cards from the 70s. But the biggest finds so far are a Topps Gold Jeter Rookie, and a couple Chipper Jones rookies. I'll do another pass later when I do the full sorting and cataloging.

The pre-order for the new Starting Lineup figures is out. They are 6" and they are super articulated. So far it is only NBA, and they are $50 each. We'll see if they do other sports, but there is no way I'm shelling out $50.Ran wrote: ↑Mon Jul 18, 2022 8:54 pm Fanatics is partnering with Hasbro to bring back the Starting Lineup figures in September. It was announced back in April, but I just heard about it today. I am curious what they are going to look like and how much they are going to cost. They don't need to be super articulated. I still pick up the vintage Starting Lineup figures at the flea market or antique stores if the price is reasonable.
Fanatics also got the exclusive rights to make baseball cards, then turned around and bought Topps.
Anyway, I did get an old Lawrence Taylor Starting Lineup for $5 today. It is still on the card, too.

Picked up a vintage Droopy McCool for $8. Yes, it was 1983 and he's a background character with minimal screen time, but they really could have came up with a better name for him.

A better name than Droopy McCool?
Impossible.
Impossible.

Fine. Irish bipedal hippos that play the clarinet are like totally cool.

I've been in Reno all week for training. After class, I was bored and stopped by a Walmart and a Target. Both stores had a whole peg full of the Vintage Landos. Walmart had some retro figures. Target had a few Rainbow Lukes and a vintage carded Figrin Dan. Bought the Figrin Dan, which is my first modern line purchase in quite a while.

And if you can find three more, you got the entire band.

I have the mail away band from POTF2. They are loose, but I have the box somewhere. I also have the tin with the 5 band figures. After Christmas, I went through my Star Wars bins and completely forgot I had it.Tom Foolery wrote: ↑Thu Feb 16, 2023 10:12 pm And if you can find three more, you got the entire band.
Pretty much why I got it.

I ended up getting the Endor Bunker. Target had it for $55. It is a bit bigger than I expected. It has both sets of blast doors. There is a panel that opens for R2, and another panel that opens so Han Solo can hot wire it.

Bigger than the old POTF2 version that was just the face? Now I'm intrigued....

It is about 16 inches wide and about 7 inches tall. The entry way is 3.5 inches deep, so Han, Leia, and R2 could all fit in there and take cover.
Found this article/video that compares them. This new one looks way more movie accurate. I never saw the POTF2 version in person.

I didn't get the Endor Battlepack (Saga?) that had the Endor Rebel-biker scout, so that was a cool bonus, too. Now, the only figure from the modern line that I wanted and don't have is the BG-J38 build a droid. I only got his legs.

But does it have a place for Han to grab Leia's boob?
