Well, holy shit, I did not know that. Got to suck knowing you gave up such a huge role for a fucking Mission Impossible sequel.

So, yeah. It's a surprisingly good film, not at all what you'd expect. Spoiler: The "real" fairy godmother is Leonardo da Vinci.

Yeah, the MI:2 shoot went long because John Woo and Tom Cruise kept wanting to add cool action scenes they'd make up on the spot and it added a few weeks to the shooting schedule. So instead of becoming a huge star, he's a trivia question.

I always joke that Hugh Jackman should be sending Cruise and Woo Thank You gift baskets every year.
And Russell Crowe since he turned Wolverine down and dropped Jackman's name to the XM producers.

Tammy. Unfunny shit. Or nonfunny. Or disfunny. Whichever negative prefix you want. Or all of them. It sucked.

Earth to Echo. Derivative of about a dozen movies I detest 'found footage' movies. Apparently the young black kid is an actor with only one name, like Cher or Madonna. What kind of pretentious douche is using one name when he's 12? Asshole. The mathematic formula for this film is [(Goonies + ET + Chronicle + Super8 + Batteries Not Included) x the suck of Mac and Me] - anything redeeming from any of those films = EtEcho.
"don't look at me like I'm a hoarder! It's rude!"

Deliver us from Evil. Moderately decent scary flick about some gulf war vet getting possessed by Sumerian demons, and a NYC cop and priest teaming up to exorcise him. It was okay. I'm looking forward to Derrickson directing Dr. Strange.

No Country For Old Men. Can you believe this came out seven years ago? Damn. Still awesome. Also, read an interesting bit of trivia. Did you know Woody Harrelson's father was a contract killer who killed a judge in Texas in 1979?

NuTrek part 1, just to see what we're getting into as far as Star Wars goes. I'm not a trekkie by any stretch so I didn't love it - but I didn't hate it. There were lots of nods to Star Wars throughout - making me wonder if that was his "test run" to get the job. I'll watch part 2 when we get back from holidays.

Thank you. When I first saw ads for this, I said, "Man, this looks like Batteries Not Included," and no one remembered what I was talking about.

Since my last recap...

Supernatural Season 1 - Finished it up. Good stuff, but I'm taking a bit of a break before diving into season two so I don't get burned out.

A Million Ways To Die In The West - Lots of great bits, but not great overall.

Game of Thrones Season 4 - Awesome, as always.

The Lego Movie - Everything is Awesome still.

Transformers - I was going to try and give this series a shot, but trying to view it as stupid, mindless action. I barely made it through the first one. It was just as excruciating as the first time.

Robocop - Second viewing of the remake. There is some good stuff in here, but it could have used some more work script-wise.

Fast & Furious 6 - Finally got around to catching up with this series. Ridiculous action, piss-poor writing, bad acting. Par for the course for this series. Unlike Transformers/Michael Bay, I think the people behind this franchise understand how stupid these flicks are and the revel in it.

Californication Season 7 - The final so-so season. I'll miss that asshole, Hank Moody.

Eat a double dose of shit, Grimlock.

Speaking of double doses of shit...

Sabotage - The recent Schwarzenegger bomb. All around terrible in every way, shape and form. Gritty to the point of ridiculous. It was so gritty that even the women were ugly.

Battleship - Or should I say Battleshit, amIright? It was like Michael Bay threw Pearl Harbor and Transformers together are realized it was too stupid even for him.
Or it was one of Slick's typical, boring days in the US Navy, saving the world from aliens with Rhianna and Meth Damon.

The Walking Dead Seasons 1 & 2 - Watching them again and am about to start season 3. Season 2 is by FAR my favorite of all of the seasons.

I liked it too (I've liked every season), but the internet hates it so much you'd think George Lucas made it.

People seriously hate Season 2? I don't read any forums and whatnot about it. What do they hate about it?

I loved it because they thought they were safe and sound for most of the episode only to have it go to shit at the end. Unlike Season 1 and the subsequent ones where they're constantly on the move and fighting for their lives.

The Odd Life of Timothy Green - a bit predictable, but well-acted and an interesting storyline. definitely a heartstring puller for anyone having fertility issues/going through adoption.

War of the Worlds - This Turner instant classic and quite possibly Chux' favorite movie gets worse and worse with each watching. I always get so pissed at those stupid fucking kids. The one sees giant machines murdering people in droves yet thinks he can take one down. That kid needed to get slapped. And Dakota MyEyesAreTooWideApart Fanning sucks as an actress. I'm glad she never caught on.

Apparently most of it is people thought the stuck on the highway/Sofia stuff lasted far too long. Watching week to week, yeah it seemed like a while, but I didn't think it was a problem when I marathoned it.

Yesterday I watched:

Tiny - On Netflix. A documentary about tiny houses. I'm strangely fascinated by/obsessed with them. I'd love one as a vacation getaway someday, but I could never live in one permanently.

Bad Grandpa .5 - Also on Netflix. If you've seen the .5 of any of the Jackass movies you know what kind of stuff to expect.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Holy shit, what a spectacular film. The CGI was fucking amazing. You'd forget you were watching CG Apes, and then for a moment you'd realize everything onscreen except for the forest was created in a computer, and be completely blown away. Phenomenal work.
About halfway thru the film Caesar is shot by one of his own Apes which completely flips the movie on its head. My friend turned and asked if we were watching Saving Private Ryan with apes because the battle scenes are so intense.

Bring on Battle for the Planet of the Apes! (Or Conquest. Or Beneath. I'm not sure which one would come next in the series.)

I'm in the process of watching .5 right now. I'm sorry but Knoxville kills me. His laugh is fucking ridiculous. If you want a cheap laugh then watch this. It's worth it.

The funniest turnaround from the original movie was the male strippers. I was rolling watching those fools chase Johnny around the city.
