The first 2 Battlefront games didn't have a plot. You picked one of the factions in campaign mode and played against the rival from their era. You battled on various planets until you captured all of them. "Heroes" only appeared in the sequel. To use them, you had to gain enough points and it was only for a limited time during each match. So, just because Boba Fett was in the trailer, it shouldn't mean much considering you could have the rebels fight the Empire on prequel planets in previous games.

That's all I meant - any "story" they include won't mean much, it will just be for people that need a reason to play each of the areas in order. They're pretty much open battle zones where you get lots of choice as to how you're going to take part.

Well, unfortunately the still from the game I saw had the same star destroyer from the newest trailer in the background suggesting it would be post-ROTJ...

Doesn't make any sense how a game with multiple endings can be considered canon.

Nah, they shouldn't be, unless this one has a defined story that they're weaving into it. If that Fett scene was the player acting out his escape from the Sarlacc for example and the rest of the levels are expanding the story from the OT - that would be serious business.

I don't consider anything but the numbered movies canon. Everything else is interesting only as a 'what if' sort of thing. I wouldn't blink if they totally dismissed the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons and I won't consider Rogue Squadron canon unless they renumber the live action movies to include those that fit into the 19/20 year gap between the PT and OT. However, I do think TEEEEEEEEEK should get his own spin off movie.

I'm with you, the numbered movies are about all I can keep straight anyhow. The fact they went ahead & shitcanned 20 plus years of folks' blood, sweat & tears only makes me more firm on that - someone else can just turn around & tell you all this new stuff is shit next year.

Does the Death Star in the Rogue One trailer look too big to anyone else?

Yeah, it's so big it should be causing huge seismic and tidal issues on the planet. But it looks cool.

Been looking at some of these TFA trailer analysis posts on various cinematic websites. So much wild speculation dressed as fact. I did see a character list possibly gleaned from the script or yet to be published merchandise which was interesting, if real. It revealed Domhall Gleeson's role.
Also a rumour that one of the stand alone movies will be based on the Death Troopers book. This is possibly the worst rumour I've heard in a long time. Han Solo and Chewbacca versus zombies.

Because of course that would be right up Disney's street. Perfect material for the PG demographic.

I agree with your canon Josh however I must say you should add the Thrawn Trilogy/Duology no matter how much you dislike it. And also since Fett is allegedly canon again they better bring back the part where he was best man at Dengars wedding and the part where they all stood around the decapitated head of Greedo at his funeral.
