Some sick, twisted part of me wants to have the thread on record so I can link to it and say, "I told you so!" when people start bitching about the way the gunner sits in the Snowspeeder. I figured it was too late to point out the AT-AT would crush itself under its own weight, given the ridiculous length of the legs in some shots.

Grimlock, if you's here, you's got some suckin' to do.
http://jedinews.co.uk/ has some pics at their site of several things folks here might actually be interested in, including the return of the "overpriced, but geeks love 'em because of the reissue packaging that many will throw away" Vintage line, including the first Hoth Leia this decade. Oh, and a revisit (already???) of Vintage Bespin Luke, and a Dengar that I'll likely skip but is sure to make a lot of folks stain their undies in one way or another.

Just so you know, the Target DCPI for the vintage collection lists it at $7.99, same price it has for Clone Wars and Saga Legends figures. That could always change, of course, but given that it's THE basic figure line this fall, not just a side line, I don't think it's going to be more expensive than the other figures. They'll likely do away with the clamshell due to the costs, but I hated the clamshell anyway.
Anyway, these look fantastic.

First Hoth Leia this decade or century? I can't remember anymore.
I'm not really excited about the return of the Vintage line. Putting a premium line back on the market in a bad economy and I don't recall the last wave selling well. Anyway, I guess Leia and Dengar make sense. They've redone all of the other Bounty Hunters weather they needed to or not. Seems like the last Veers didn't come out all that long ago either. But since they are releasing another AT-AT, you can't blame them for trying to cash in.
I agree with you on Luke. It looks like an improvement over the last one, but why completely re-do a Vintage figure from 3 years ago?
Edit: $7.99? Not bad, but still.

Millennium, actually.
Is it just me, or is Dengar's face a step down from the last two? He doesn't look very Dengarish to me. Aside from that, the figure looks stellar, and if $7.99 is the price, I'll probably get him after all.

Well, every figure released this year is the first figure of that character this decade, since, you know. (At least, I think. Since the number in the tens place is different, does that mean it's a new decade, even though the millennium started in 2001? Bah, who cares.)
Anyway, I like the Dengar face sculpt. At least his mouth isn't open, like it was on the 2004 one. And yeah, it's the first all-new Hoth Leia since 1998, and the fifth overall:
*1998 POTF2, Fan Club exclusive
*1998 Mynock Hunt
*2003 Hoth pack (kitbash of older figures)
*2008 Comic Pack with Tobbi Dala (repaint of Mynock Hunt figure with new head and holster)
Another thing - I think the new AT-AT Commander is supposed to be a generic guy, not General Veers. The vintage packaging from the 1980s has a generic name and a picture of an AT-AT, not a specific character. So there you go.

Since I like to stir things up over there I borrowed your words Nark and posted 'em in the Snowspeeder thread. I can honestly see your thinking on how tough it would be to sit the figure in the back but not a word of it will seep into there heads.

I'm glad someone is keeping score. I have the 1998 and 2003 versions.
Generic AT-AT commander makes sense. Also explains why it didn't look like Veers. I'm kind of a sucker for the vintage cards, so I might end up getting them.

Every year, Gamefaqs.com has a character battle. People vote for their favorite video game characters in a bracket style tournament.
I found this one funny, so I'm throwing it in here due to past fan choice voting trends.
L-Block (From Tetris) 63.9% 24530
HK-47 36.1% 3861
TOTAL VOTES 38391

Triple post Grimlock. Suck it.
Picked up the Target TIE fighter today for $10. It's yours if you want it, Slicker.

If you find another for $10, I'd be interested. I doubt that'll happen, though.
Some sad news to report to everyone, since I know a few of you (Ran) still occasionally collect some stuff but don't keep up with the news. The final wave of the Legacy Collection has been canceled, or, rather, made a Toys R Us exclusive. Hopefully, as they've done with their exclusive Rise of Cobra waves, they'll be the same price as their other SW figures. This is the Expanded Universe wave, made up of the Phase I Darktrooper, K'krukh (the Whiphid Jedi from the Clone Wars comics and original cartoon), a massively improved Spacetrooper (the EU sort like we saw in 1998, not the one from the Death Star that came out last year), Han and Leia's kids Jacen and Jaina Solo (both as they appeared in the New Jedi Order series), and a half-nekkid Shaak Ti from The Force Unleashed game.
"Big freaking deal," you say. "I hate the Distended Colon Universe."
Here's why it might be a big deal for you anyway: remember how the droids from the Tales of the Jedi comic and the original Clone Wars cartoon and the New Jedi Order novels were stuck into movie waves? Well, here was where they made up for it. This wave includes
BG-J38, Jabba's accountant droid from Return of the Jedi, who's been highly requested by collectors for years, since he just looks bitching as hell. Oh, and Hasbro has said they aren't going to re-release any of the Build-A-Droid droids. Not that they don't plan to, but they won't.

I'll keep my eyes open. I went to a different Target yesterday and they still had it for $39.99. If Slicker doesn't want this one, it is yours. I have to admit, since I found it, I'm curious to see what it looks like.

Thanks. I appreciate that. I peek at RS once in while, but not on a daily basis.

Big frickin' deal. EU sucks and I wasn't going to get it anyway. Wasn't the 2nd Bespin Guard supposed to be in that wave?

Whoa! Psychic?

Actually, no. But go ahead.

I know BG-J38 was part of that wave (which I wasn't going to get), so I've already given up hope on getting my hands on one. But I must admit that I was hoping he would be re-packed with something else. Maybe that rumored Jabba? (or was that going to be Oola?)
So does that mean nothing new is coming out for a while?

I might be wrong, but I think it's the ESB wave (showing up in some areas now), then the TRU EU wave around May, and nothing until the fall (meaning it'll be on shelves in August if they don't set a specific street date).
Not sure about the Cloud Car, AT-AT, and Snowspeeder. I'm assuming fall on those.
BTW, Hasbro confirmed there will be a new Cloud Car Pilot released around the time of the Cloud Car, marking this as one of the few occasions where a pilot was released separately from the vehicle but both were actually on shelves at the same time.

I got the ESB wave, but only have seen traces of it at 1 or 2 Walmarts since.
The last Cloud Car Pilot was fine. Don't see the need for a new one (I have 2). It is worthy of a re-release.
Something that I'm confused on...Are all figures this year going to be on Vintage style cards or just those 4 from ESB?
