The B List....

Let's kick this off with a bang...
Bad Boys. Bad Boys. Whatcha gonna do? Remember when you first saw the trailer for this? It was all car chases and explosions and gunfights and shit, then they cut to Will and Martin? At the time, those two were known for their snappy sitcoms. And you're thinking 'Wait, this isn't a trailer for a comedy...what the hell are they doing in it?' Man, that was brilliant. Flying Blind's Tea Leoni didn't hurt matters any ( She'll always be Flying Blind's Tea Leoni to me). And there's the dialogue...
"First I blow you, mother bitches!"
"Whoa. How you gonna leave my ass in the middle of a gunfight to go get the car?"
"Damn. You a big a Popeye chicken eatin' muthafuckah ain't ya? What're you, 350?"
What can I say, great flick!
( P.S. 200 posts! Whahoo!)

I only saw the first 20 minutes on Boondock. I hear they are making a sequel. All Saints Day: Boondock 2
But it's not on the B-List so....
Batman Still the best of the Batflicks. Keaton is the perfect brooding Bruce Wayne. Batman is a little short, but eh. What're ya gonna do? Jack IS the Joker. This one also doesn't suffer from multiple bad guy syndrome. Which sucks up a Super Hero movie. A classic.
Batman Returns This one suffers from too much badguyness. And initially, I hated Chris Walken since it was this goofy villain they had made just for the film. But the more I watch it, the more his over the top characterization cracks me up. Michelle is YUMMY in vinyl. It's too bad the end falls apart with those stupid rocket penguins.
Batman Forever This one sucks more and more each time I see it. I used to think Batman & Robin was the most atrocious one in the series, but know I'm thinking they are tied. The only redeeming qualities in this are Carrey's flaming performance ( my god, can the Riddler be more of a queen? Brillaint!) and Nicole Kidman sleeping in nothing but a silk sheet. Oh my! Can we pause it riiiiight...there!

Jim Carey played the Riddler like the Joker. It was brilliant.
And Val made do with what he had. In a better movie, he coulda been a great Batman.

I actually disliked all but "forever" of the batman films...
I saw it at a dollar theatre and someone released 3 bats into the place and it was pretty cool... couldn't figure how you'd sneak bats in, but it happened... I hope nothing got "chewed"....
I would like to pre-emptively nominate "gigli", a film that looks SO bad I might actually have to watch it, just like "the postman", which I watch mebbe once a year just to keep me humble

i loved the micheal keaton/tim burton batflicks... everything after that was too colorful, too over-the-top... i love "returns" - walken was awesome!!! that was the origin of my fascination.
"selina... selina kyle... you're FIRED. and bruce wayne... why you dressed up like batman?"
"because he is batman you moron..."
i always hated the way the riddler was characterized in "forever." the riddler is supposed to be stoic, calm, collected, not a raging lunatic...
