Cancelled!

Here's a spot to discuss shit like: "Fuck I started hating this book, and so I cancelled it", or maybe "Fuck that shit sucks, I think they should cancel it", or lastly - "They better not fucking cancel that book. It kicks ass".
So I cancelled GI Joe, GI Joe Frontline, Transformers G1, Black Panther, Stormwatch: Team Achilles, and Authority as of this week. Liberating to say the least. I would stick with GI Joe, and may buy the next couple off the rack to make sure I don't want it any more. Im just not finding it edgy enough or something. The old stuff was better. Transformers Im just not even close to understanding, and the rest I just gave up on. Too many limited series coming out every month that I want to read, so I needed to back it off a notch or six.

They cancelled Black Panther for ya, jj! The Crew is also getting bumped. And I beleive Soldier X and Agent X were retroactively turned into "limited series" to make way for the Cable/Deadpool book.
All the Wildstorm books (Authority, WildCats, Stormwatch etc) are having a crossover down the road where the Authority basically turns the world into a police state. But I don't collect any of them so meh.
I'm sticking with GIJoe until at least 25. It has been spinning it's wheels a bit lately. Not enough straight Joe vs Cobra world domination stories. Frontline has always sucked balls. Even the first Hama series was kinda lame. Nostalgic, but not very exciting.
I haven't really dropped anything since I started collecting again. There've been things I picked up an issue of that didn't warrant picking up another issue, but the series that grabbed me, still have me. X-Cept X-Treme X-Crap(See below). Hulk came close with that craptastic Leandro Fernandez run, but promises of Deodato kept me coming back. In retrospect, I could've dropped it for five issues since none of it had to do with the Conspiracy.
X-Treme X-Men should be cancelled. Just for having a dumb title.

I'm loving the main GIJoe series myself, and follow Frontline just because (like Special Missions back in the day) it has potential. The idea of bringing Serpentor back, though, has me worried, and with Blaylock leaving soon, I might change my mind.
Transformers is all over the place. The first series sucked ass like ass has never been sucked, but series 2 is pretty cool. Armada has been cool since Furman took over, and even if I cancel the other G1 books at some point, any of Furman's work has a home on my shelf.
Unlike a lot of you, I'm considering cancelling all the X-books again. Overall they're just missing something. (Villains, maybe?) If I do, I'll stay with New X-Men through the end of Morrison's run. At least his writing is good enough to sustain long periods of seeming stagnation.

i just cancelled "electra"... don't remember if i cancelled anything else.
i aborted TF:armada after like, issue 2 or something... i just couldn't get into it. i want my transforming robots to look like they did when i was a kid.
i don't even know what wildstorm is anymore. and i never collected any of the recent x-men except for new x-men. and that's the only one i need.

Which will be the final issue of Panther, EP? Ill have to pick up the last few then, as Im only missing three issues from this entire last run. I just haven't read any since like #4 or something - how stupid is that? I love the character though, and always planned on having a big sitdown and catch up session with the King. Guess I can wait awhile now and do it all at once.
Pretty long run for a character like that eh? Ghostrider, Namor and Dr. Strange should be so lucky......

The 4 part Ascension storyline was the last of the series, I believe...too bad, because those covers were making me want to pick it up.

Well colour me right on time then, Ascension part IV was the last issue I got. Upon opening it up (for the first time, even though it came out like a month ago - I suck) there IS one of those quasi tearful and guilt inducing last issue goodbye pages. Last issue, but Panther will be continuing on with the Avengers, and White Tiger will be continuing on with The Crew, for as long as it lasts. On that note, James Rhodes is a cool comic character.

White Tiger? Does he have a sidekick called Klan Boy?

Hehehehe....... no, from my recollection White Tiger was one of those back up characters from the Master of Kung Fu stories, no? He had one half of this tiger medallion, and his arch nemesis had the other half? Maybe Im on crack, but I think that was White Tiger. Guess I'll have to read that last arc on Black Panther to confirm.

The original White Tiger was on trial for murder in Daredevil 39-40. He ended up getting gunned down on the steps of the courthouse by cops. DEAD.
The new White Tiger is some kind of Black Panther protoge with a cool mask and stuff. Not sure about his relation to the prior WT other than the name...

And there were two female White Tigers as well. The first was a High Evolutionary induced Tiger that turned into a woman. She was in the short lived Heroes For Hire book in the late 90's. And now there's a new White Tiger chicka ex FBI agent who is a protoge of Daredevil wth her own limited series right now. Not sure if any of these White Tigers have met any of the other White Tigers, but they could do a White Tiger Clan limited series.

I'd rather see a Vengeance Tiger comic.

Bringin' this Topic back.
I decided to drop All Star Western after 6 issues. It was the one and only 52 book I was getting, because I really liked the Jonah Hex book before the reset. But those Hex books were all really good done in one issues, and this new series is dragging out a mediocre story trying to shoehorn Hex into Gotham City's history. And at $3.99 an issue, I'm just not feeling it anymore. So, CANCELED.
