There was a thread about these at one point, but I think the Romulans ate it.

Before the discussion begins:

If you are missing any of these, and there's a Borders (especially a Borders outlet) in the vicinity, check it out. I found an extra copy each of Understanding Comics and Making Comics for $3.99 each today. No Reinventing, unfortunately. But it looks like they're in an assortment of $3.99 clearance books that are going across the nation.

All three of these are "must-reads." I say that about Making even if you don't care to make your own, too.

hrm... i didn't know about "making" - i have the other two, though. in fact i have an idea for a small project that was directly inspired by "reinventing comics".

I've got Understanding and Reinventing.
Both are damn fine books.

Making just came out last September or October. I was really surprised to find that one in the bin. It's a lot of "how-to" info, beyond the basics of drawing and writing, and probably the best (if not the only) work on actually creating a story in comics format.

It's also got a lot of vital info that builds upon Understanding and Reinventing. Definitely worth reading, like I said, even if you have no interest in making them yourself.

Meh.

Just kidding. I should probably grab these while they're cheap. Might make a neat-o Christmas gift.
