MCU Topic

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

Can finally chime in on Deadpool. I have nothing unique or funny to add, just here to say we loved every minute of it. Seeing the 20th century fox characters so young & beautiful during the end credits seriously made me wistful. Stupid Green Day.

Double post so it shows up as new. This particular Wolverine that we wound up watching - what's your take on him? I figure he lived the events of the first Fox X-Men movie but then fucked up before the start of X2 & it was Stryker's team that killed the X-Men. Does that sound right?

Which blue suit was he wearing - an homage to 1st Appearance Wolvie or Astonishing X-Men Wolvie?

"Classic John Byrne tan & brown... isn't that the one you fought the Hulk in?" - actually no, no it wasn't. At least not the first time. The initial battle took place, as you all know, in Herb Trimpe's small-eared yellow with blue kit.

But enough with the nit picking. This was the happiest & most engaged I've been watching a movie in forever.

The Byrne suit is a reference to the classic McFarlane issue 340 of the Hulk. He was wearing that uniform during that post-Fall of the Mutants, Australian Outback era.

I would say the yellow costume is more Astonishing than OG, but I would say the filmmakers were just going for an amalgamation that fans would recognize, rather than being strict to a specific version.

The X-Men timeline is fucked. This is a completely different new Logan not seen in any of the other films. It’s easier that way.
It would’ve been kickass to see a brief flashback where the rest of the X-Men were in comic accurate uniforms also. Imagine James Marsden in a Jim Lee bandoliered Cyke costume. Or Anna Paquin in Green and Yellow with a leather jacket.

I read they approached Nic Cage to be Ghost Rider but he said no thank you. DC probably ruined it with their botched Flash cameo.
They also wanted RDJr in the Happy scene, but he also wasn’t interested.
I’m sure we’ll be hearing about more potential cameos that weren’t as time goes by.

We were joking on the way home that Danny DeVito could have played comic accurate Wolvie. I can only imagine that 100 other actors, from famke Jansen to Jessica alba must have all been asked but declined for their own reasons.

Or maybe we'll see a directors cut including a bunch more cameos that had to be cut for time....

The ton of cameos are pretty much what everyone expected from Dr Strange 2 and didn't get.

I'll allow it. I'm looking forward to seeing this movie again, from the comfort of my own couch so I can stop it & look more carefully at shots when I pick & choose to.

Yahoo's algorithms decided I need random info on Deadpool 3.

Blake Lively asked Halle Berry about being in Deadpool 3, but that was as far as it went. Halle Berry said she would be open to being Storm or Catwoman again.

Robert Downey Jr. turned down an Ironman cameo. They even had the scene written. He supposedly was the only "no" of the people that were asked. It was because of the Dr. Doom thing.

Patrick Stewart was never considered for a cameo.

And Jennifer Garner posted this...

I've only seen the first episode of Agatha All Along so far, but it's better than it should be.
Katheryn Hahn is always great, and the addition is Aubrey Plaza is awesome.

Fun fact 1: Somehow Aubrey Plaza is 40 years old.

Fun fact 2: In episode 1, you see Katheyn Hahn's bare ass.

Oh shit, I forgot that was out.

I read they kept changing the title of the show as a meta-joke, because it was going to be ‘Agatha All Along’ all along.

Marvel trying to course correct after the last few movies flopped(not counting D+W). I think I’m slightly more excited for this than Capt America 4.
