MCU Topic

Rather than have a topic for each flick, and the movies/news seems to be coming faster all the time, I figure why not have just one thread for all of it?
Tom Holland revealed that a fan theory has now become canon, according to Marvel.
Iron Man saves a little boy in an Iron Man helmet at the Stark Expo in Iron Man 2 - That boy is Peter Parker.
Not a game changer by any means, but I think it's kinda fun.

I really wanted the nerdy SHIELD Agent who says "Captain's Orders" in Winter Soldier, and then showed up again to help run the helicarrier in Age of Ultron to be named Wendell Vaughn. Alas, they missed that opportunity.
Does that IM2 theory even line up time wise? IM2 was in 2010. If Peter was 15/16ish currently, he would've been 9 or 10. That kid looks a lot younger than that. Or maybe he was just rrrrrrrrreeeeaaalllllly runty back then.

Michelle Pfeiffer is Janet VanDyne in the Ant-Man sequel.
Laurence Fishburne is Bill Foster. No word on whether he'll suit up as Black Goliath, but probably.
The Captain Marvel movie is going to be set in the 90s.
She will fight Skrulls with the help of non-eyepatch wearing Nick Fury.
The only thing that looked cool about that Inhumans trailer was Lockjaw.
Medusa's hair looks stupid.
And if the trailer is any indication, Maximus is the main character. Wayyy too much Maximus played by an annoying actor.
I think they pooched the concept. With a good budget, this would've made a way better film in the actual MCU and not a low rent TV series with no name actors.

Thor: Ragnarok is all kinds of awesome. I'd say top 5 for the MCU.
I do have a couple of relatively small problems with the flick, but I'll save spoilers until more have seen it.
And Cate Blanchett was pretty damn hot as Hela, and I'm not usually into the S&M/leather or semi-goth look.

Cate Blanchett is so insanely hot, especially for someone who probably was a grandmother during the War of 1812.
And Thor Ragnarok is, like you said, all kinds of awesome. You hear of movies being like a love letter to someone? This movie was a simultaneous blowjob to Kirby and Simonson.
Motherfucking Beta Ray Bill, Man-Thing, and Frog Thor?
And I'm thinking Loki pocketed the Tesseract (duh)
and a certain Mad Titan tracked it down.
I give this movie
.

Gahhh. I’m waiting until next weekend when my son is in town to see it. Do you have any idea how difficult it is to wait? (I might not wait)

They have marketed it as a "fun" movie like Guardians & Ant-Man. If it's anything like one & nothing like the other I'll be good.

Do we still tell Grimlock to suck it?
I noticed "The Lonely Man" in the credits.
Did anyone catch it in the movie?
"Pure Imagination" was pretty tough to miss, but I didn't hear this one.

I don’t know where to put this but...
Disney wants to buy Fox.
Discuss.

As long as they include the rubber Thing suit in any deal I'm down.

Besides X-Men, Spiderman, and the 20th Century Fox opening for Star Wars, what are the big things they are going after? The Simpsons?

Holy fucking shit, I need Holland, Jackman, and Ruffalo (along with a yet-uncast Danny Ketch) in a New Fantastic Four movie yesterday.

From what little I read, Disney is starting their own streaming service to rival Netflix and Hulu, etc and they want Fox’s catalog of movies and TV shows to add to their already impressive collection. Getting the Marvel stuff back, while the bigger “nerd” news, it’s almost an afterthought.
