Cerebus the Aardvark
I've never read this before. I've always heard of it, but (aside from the story in TMNT #8*, which was a bit confusing without any background) had never read anything by the character.
So at Comic-Con, I was determined to hit the half-price graphic novel boxes and pick up some of the stuff I'd always heard of or meant to read. I found a few later Cerebus volumes (6 & 7, I believe) and picked them up. And then I came home and ordered #1 (since I hadn't found it at the Con for cheaper than I knew I could get it online).
Started reading it a few days ago. Holy carp! This is some good stuff here. The first few issues are a bit crude, but I'm about 150 pages into the collection (reading 1-2 issues a night), and it's really coming into its own. I don't think anyone's going to accuse Dave Sim of being one of the great comic artists of all time (his inking is superb, but anatomy, perspective, etc, are merely passable), but he really makes up for it in story. I don't know how long it will take, but I will definitely be reading the entire series.
If you haven't read it, check it out. Otherwise The Grin is going to visit your parents.
Edit: Wait, I take that back. I recall an early issue of Spawn with Cerebus, too, but can't recall anything beyond "Gah! Color!" from the cover.

Eh, I thought I'd read somewhere that he planned to do 360. Either I was wrong, or he changed his mind. I think the ol' Wiki would be reliable on such an undisputable fact as the number of issues a comic book ran.
Oh, and bite my balls.
Why'd I say that? No reason. It just seemed par for the course here of late.

Someday i will get around to reading Cerebus. I like that the guy had this idea back in the 70's and stuck with it until it was done almost 30 years later.
