How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

The nicknames didn't bother me so much the first time, but the repetition killed it for me. I also don't see the point of Artooie; that's a nickname of a fucking nickname! But she only said that one twice.

Corey Burton would be upset to know you don't consider him a real actor, JJL. (I'm not being a smartarse, but the guy is a well-known voice actor. He just doesn't use his body in his acting.)

I do want to eventually see this, but, given how unimpressed I was with the stuff at Comic-Con (99% animation-related) and the story I read in the novel, I don't want to pay $20 to see this. I'd actually be more likely to buy it blind on DVD.

I think this will look absolutely amazing on DVD, and the show should be pretty great. I think I would have liked this movie even better if they had just left it as a show; that way we wouldn't have to compare it to the movies so much and could appreciate it more for what it is. But, it's still fun to see on the big screen.

But Corey Burton was in the original Transformers show (Shockwave, Sunstreaker, Brawn, and Spike), Transformers Animated (Megatron and Ratchet), Ducktales (Ludwig von Drake), Atlantis: The Lost Empire (Moliere), Chip 'n Dale's Rescue Rangers (Dale), Gotham Knight (Scarecrow), the DCAU (Brainiac), and GIJoe (Tomax, and, therefore, likely Xamot). He's a motherfucking giant in the field. Show some respect.

I'm taking my son on Tuesday. My expectations are different for this than they were for ROTS, but I think that's partially because I had formed the opinion long ago that Clone Wars wasn't intended for me the way ROTS was.

It comes right back to Robert Kirkman and my new favorite argument: meant for kids or adults but suitable for the other group as well - I think ROTS had less for kids than it maybe could have, and I think Clone Wars is looking like it might be the opposite.

Okay, good. I remember a lady during ROTS saying that "they just saved a million dollars by doing it like that" while the opening crawl was showing, as if they were going to show what was happening instead of writing it in the crawl. What a fucking retard.

Well I just got back from Clone Wars and I'm not going to bother posting about it elsewhere. It was a miss for me, though I did like the sounds and the "graphics" for the ships, clones & droids. I couldn't buy the look of the human characters (particularly the hair for some reason - it was really bad, maybe on purpose?) and that kept bothering me the whole time. Jabba's skin looked amazing & textured while Stinky's looked flat (again, possibly on purpose but he looked "cheap" compared to Jabba).

The music was awful for me. The "new" score & constant borrowing from the Black Hawk Down soundtrack (middle eastern music every time they were on a sandy planet) didn't sit well at all.

I think I can best sum it up like this: Star Wars works best when it's played straight. From ROJ on there have been an increasing number of "sight gags" that miss the mark (in fact the only ones that I like are the frog sucking up the bug in ROJ and Jabba flicking the small chicken off the railing during the podrace). The Battle Droids having enough intelligence to crack wise doesn't work for me - blank expressions and looking confusedly at each other is MORE than enough to add a little humor.

The action sequences were good, but so tightly packed I found it a little tough to remember exactly where the characters were from one skirmish to the next.

It seems the older I get the younger the target audience for Star Wars gets, and that's fine. It'll continue to make money hand over fist. I just wish they had left a bit more "original" tone to this for us older types.

I just saw it tonight. I liked it. It wasnt bad, but it wasnt the best. I went in with low expectaions and was impressed with the animation on everything sans most of the humans. I didnt care for Dooku, Anakin or Obi-Wan. Palps , Padme and the clones looked really good. Loathsome was cool as was Ventress.

They story line was OK. Basically get the Hutts kid back to him. The space battles were pretty good. The lightsaber duels were nice. Overall I would give it 3.5/5 stars

i was at Costco and noticed a "mature" novelization of the story! I assumed I had read the only version, that being the young readers one. Has anyone gone through the hardcover, and if so was it worth the read?
