Yeah, I don't know.
As great a ST was, everything they've done since then has been a letdown.

so, for some reason i decided to check imdb while watching it again today, and found something that makes the 'chicken fucker' scene even better - the driver and passenger are kevin fucking hefernan's PARENTS! go to the page linked below and hit ctrl-F to do a page search, and type 'chicken f**cker'!

They mention that in the commentaries.
So, 2010 has come and almost gone. What happened to ST2?
I agree their followups haven't been as good. I haven't even seen SlamminSalmon. I just happened past it in the Walmart DVD section a few weeks ago.

i haven't even heard of that one! i enjoyed club dread and beerfest, but agree they're not as on-par with super troopers. that said, i still enjoy them a lot more than other movies i've seen.

I saw Slammin Salmon on Comedy Central. They played the uncensored version. Without giving anything away, the basic gist of the movie is that they work in a restaurant and have a competition to see who can make the most money. It is on par with Beerfest.

Beerfest was good, but Club Dread sucked.
They'll never top Super Troopers.

Yeah well, much like Edgar Wright's alleged Ant-Man movie, I'll believe it when I'm watching the end credits roll.

The excuse for it not coming earlier is
"You know, it was a combination of having to settle some of the legal disputes about making a sequel, while also negotiating terms for it,"
