How I realized I was over Star Wars completely

movies are cool. here is a place to talk about how cool they are. or maybe how much they suck, sometimes. like that fucking piece of shit 'mac and me'. worst fucking movie ever, a two-hour ad for fucking coca-cola.

I watched 15 minutes of Skeleton Crew and was so bored/distracted I stopped with the intent of watching it later. But I still haven’t.
And that opening scene with the pirates seemed incredibly underlit. I wasn’t sure what I was watching.

I'm really enjoying Skeleton Crew. The kids are kind of annoying, especially that blue prick, but it's a lot of fun.
Jude Law is always great.

A little surprised but not really surprised I guess - the role of baylan Skoll has been recast. Sandor clegane aka the hound aka Rory McCann will take over for season 2. Certainly capable.

never seen him in anything but GoT, so we'll have to see if he can portray the same regal air that Stevenson brought to the character. the character of The Hound is a fair bit less nuanced than Skoll.
Life is short. STUNT IT!

Apparently, he and Stevenson were good friends, and the casting has his widow's blessing. So that's promising.

Rewatching Andor.

That is all.

It was confirmed today that Ryan Gosling will be in Shawn Levy's mysterious SW movie.

Please, Primus, let this be an action comedy about Dash Rendar.

I am not hopeful, for reasons I can't fully explain.

Well, fuck. Now if it’s anything other than that, I will be disappointed.

Also, Lucasfilm only announces projects. They don’t actually make anything.

I’m two episodes into Skeleton Crew. Still waiting for it to get good.

Finally saw the rest of Skeleton Crew. When they compared it to Goonies, I had my doubts. It turns out that the comparison was accurate.

Andor is just fucking amazing.

I absolutely love that we're getting the darkest, best acted, most intellectual SW in the same show with way-the-fuck-deep dives into Legends, like bringing up the fucking Rakata at least once each season. (Fewer allusions per episode than Ahsoka. But it actually makes the ones we get hit harder.)

And if Genevieve and Stellan don't get nominations this season, fuck Hollywood.

It makes me sad this is the ‘final’ season. I know too much of a great thing dilutes what makes it great, but the sheer amount of untapped potential stories set against the backdrop of the Alliance/Imperial conflict is too great to ignore. Even if it isn’t called Andor this story needs to continue.

They should do a series that covers Mon Mothma between Rogue One and ROTJ.

She and Bail are the main protagonists of The Mask of Fear. Where she canonically shits herself. But it's a book. I'd kill for another show. Everyone is seeing why those of us geeky enough to read the books in the 90s loved her.

(And, yes, she shits herself. It's not for laughs, nor some inexplicable apparent fetish like Kevin Smith dicking around with Batman. Being a known dissident, she's tortured for days and it's Andor levels of dark.)

Other than Jar Jar stepping in it, is that the reference to shit in space?

Mon Montha seems like the logical choice since she is such a big part of Andor, but doesn't show up in a movie again until ROTJ. All of the other main characters apparently die by the end of Season 2, Rogue One, or ANH.

Of course Bail was sort of in ANH until the Empire succeeded where Marvin the Martian's Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator always seemed to fail. Although, the idea of Tarkin muttering something about an earth-shattering ka-boom is kind of funny.
