I wasn't aware it was his twin either...I thought it was just another horny dude with face tats. Basically a knockoff of Darth Maul but not his twin.
However, I've not watched a single episode from season 3 so I've been a bit behind...I did buy the season 2 DVD though, still need to catch up on the 2 Zillo Beast episodes.

I never meant twin in the literal sense, just in the sense that they look alike.

Hilarious, I didn't THINK it was true...yet I could not emphatically state they were NOT twins either, so I guess I wouldn't have been surprised if Nark was telling a complete fact.

I never heard it was his twin either, but it seems to me I saw somewhere that it was Maul's brother.

You know who's twin would totally fuck the entire mythos right out of existence?
Darth Vader's twin.
Darth Vader's twin.

Lucas mentioned that it was Maul's brother when he introduced the clip at CV during the Jon Stewart interview. In a panel later that day, Dave Filoni pretended to skirt a question about Savage's connection to Maul and not know what George meant, perhaps because he didn't want to reveal it yet.Diabolical wrote:I never heard it was his twin either, but it seems to me I saw somewhere that it was Maul's brother.
The episode airs in January, so I guess we'll find out then, eh?

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
Jumping back to the original gyst of the topic, the Clone Wars movie was on Cartoon Network tonight. So I watched it.
And I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. I'm not about to join the fan club, but it didn't suck by any means. Most of the voice acting was superb. The animation and character designs still kinda stunk (Rotta was especially bad), but, otherwise, the visuals were excellent (particularly in large battle scenes). And, aside from some unnecessary silliness and awkwardness on the Ahsoka front, the script was actually better than AOTC or ROTS by a pretty wide margin.
Interestingly, although it doesn't seem to be the case with the show now, it looks like they were, at this point, trying to honor prior Clone Wars continuity as closely as possible. Even moreso than the actual movies, even.
The story wasn't the strongest I've seen in my life (the resolution with Ziro seemed a bit hasty, and, like many other episodes, the Separatist plot seemed a bit too convoluted), but it wasn't bad.
Definitely better than any Michael Bay movie and 2/3 of the prequel trilogy. (And it even felt more "Star Warsy" than TPM.) It actually makes me think I'll watch a few more episodes of the show (at least the episodes generally agreed upon to be the better ones).

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
I'm halfheartedly tempted to buy the CloneWars seasons. The boy really digs SW(and he has no clue about the treasure trove of SW in the basement. Seriously, if we went down there and started going through boxes, there's thousands of figures and hundreds of vehicles/playsets. He'd poop his pants. But I digress...)
Maybe if they drop in price. I can't justify paying George's arbitrary extra $30 for something because SW is on it.

So you're saying that regular full-season box sets are usually $5 each?Rollo Tomassi wrote:Maybe if they drop in price. I can't justify paying George's arbitrary extra $30 for something because SW is on it.

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
Last time I looked (which was awhile ago) CloneWars Season 1 was $49.99. Every other cartoon boxset is $19.99

I just looked and the DVD sets are $35, though the Blu-rays are $50. I'm not sure about other cartoons but that doesn't really seem that bad to me.

You can find Clone Wars seasons for around $30, which ain't bad when you consider people pay $15-20 for a new DVD movie.

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
I'm the kind of guy that waits until TV Seasons are dirt cheap. I bought Smallville and Entourage on Black Friday for $10 each, and $12 for the first three seasons of BigBang Theory. So, I'd probably only buy CloneWars if it was around $15. And that's unlikely since King George insists on his 200% cut of the profits.

Re: How I realized I was over Star Wars completely
The Savage Opress screenings are happening in some cities across the country, with the next three episodes having been edited together into a feature. Everyone's saying it's badass - even people who didn't like the CW movie and haven't kept up with the series.
The most pertinent thing to this discussion, though, is that I read today that Savage Opress isn't necessarily Darth Maul's biological brother. They're just from the same planet now - Dathomir (as opposed to the previously-established Iridonia) - on which all the men consider each other brothers and the women consider each other sisters. Maybe it's a smaller thing, like within clans or whatever, but I think it's planetwide. I think this makes it significantly less wanky or goofy than having it be his actual brother, but that might be just me.
