I think they should go for less, honestly, and make it spectacular. Hear me out before you complain. :) Produce the Clone Wars stuff for kids (and the adults who like it). Keep Saga Legends on the pegs, entirely focused on main characters and army builders. Release at least one specialized case of all army builders per year.

For Legacy, cut the number of waves in half. Focus on making everything great; it seems to me right now that about 1/3 of the stuff is great, so if we get 1/2 the current number of figures and they're all great, we're getting more worthwhile figures. Scrap the Build-A-Droid nonsense. They can get more for the droids selling them at $8 apiece, and the gimmick doesn't seem to be working the way they planned it. Rather than making people buy lots of figures they don't want, I'm seeing a lot of people trading parts, and I'm sure there are a few weird people who are passing on figures because they don't want the droid parts. Scrapping the idea altogether also means characters like Yarna don't get overproduced. (I'm wondering how they expect Wilrow to not be a pegwarmer; they have to produce him in equal numbers to the figures with the other droid parts, like it or not.) No Legacy resculpts unless they're totally necessary. No theme waves anymore. And maybe give each of the three major retailers an exclusive mini-wave that includes a major fan favorite character and a total "loser" character (loser in sales terms, someone like Yarna or Breha, even though I swear I've seen Breha fewer times than I can count on my fingers so I don't know where they all shipped to).

The big thing they need to admit to doing rather than flat-out denying, then stop doing: stop making people buy shit they have, especially stuff that's subpar, to get new stuff. It pisses people off. When people are pissed and broke, they don't buy.

It does seem like they're going to be moving in some of those directions. I think they said they're going to move away from the themed waves. I like them, but I'd also like some more variety now and then.

I think Hasbro knows that Legacy Collection isn't doing as well as they want it to be, so I wonder what all changes are in store.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

What did I miss? The 2nd Hoth trooper is coming out in a battle pack instead of on a single card? Anything else like the Bespin Guards or 2nd Ugnaught get cancelled?

I understand the resculpting of the Rancor Keeper more than a new AT-AT driver. It seems like the last AT-AT driver just came out a couple years ago.

It did.

The story on the second Hoth Trooper is that it was supposed to be released in a later wave, but somehow it didn't actually show up, even though it was made, or something, and they spent all the money they were going to use to ship it to the US on crack. They said in a Q&A from another site that he would be made available next year in a Battlepack, but there were no further details. Given that they swear, despite mountains of evidence to the contrary, that all Battlepacks are made up entirely of previously released figures, it's pretty much a given it'll be this "new" figure and three pices of carp we've seen a million times over.

Apparently, the second Ugnaught and Bespin Guard are still forthcoming on cards, though it sounds like the Legacy line is doing shit numbers and they're letting it die a slow death by making that fucking Malakili.

Well, that's too bad about the Hoth Trooper. I'm sure it will be something like the Hoth Trooper, Cliff Clavin, C-3PO, and a POTF2 Hoth Leia. Either that, they will cram a him in there with a new astromech, Luke, Vader, or Han Solo.

So the Rancor's fat ass will replace Yarna's fat ass on the pegs. Seems like all the Yarnas slowly disappeared. Seems strange because I didn't see any of them go on clearance anywhere. Just a few months ago I saw a Yarna with a 1st Day Issue sticker on it at a Kmart (I think).

Hasbro's said they recalled and destroyed them all. The environment personally called to thank them for being dicks.

I don't know. He definitely wouldn't have been in my top 10 need resculpts, but they did a decent job on him.
Really, Ran, you're scaring me. I saw that piece of shit at Target today. Aside from the joints and removable hood, I saw no improvement. He's the same boring-ass fat turd he was ten years ago.

He was a boring-ass fat turd in the movie. I agree that a re-sculpt wasn't necessary and I'm sure there are several characters from the Jabba scene that need to be made. I like this Rancor Keeper a bit better than the POTF2 version. Besides, my POTF2 version has a loose waist joint so I guess I kind of needed a new one.

By the way, my kids think he is hilarious and have decided he farts a lot.

You know what's funny? It has been a while since I've watched ROTJ or spent any time on SW message boards. Right now, other than Cane Adiss and Sgt. Doallyan, I'm having trouble thinking of other characters from the Jabba scene that need to be made. Yak Face would have probably been a better choice for a re-sculpt than the Rancor Keeper.

There aren't really many prominent Jabba's palace figures left to be made - Shasa Tiel and Fozec, maybe. Then the skiff guards, but they're more visible on the skiffs (obviously). Then you have to go even farther into the background. I'm glad they're making a new Gamorrean guard next year, at least.

I can (kind of) understand them redoing Malakili. There's the new Rancor, and Giran, the other Rancor keeper, so might as well just do him, too. For all people's talk about Yarna having a lot of screen time, Malakili looks like a main character compared to her. Hasbro said it was part of their plan to completely update the vintage line, so I guess they didn't like the 1997 one (even though it fits the bill pretty well). I've still not seen any of the ROTJ wave so I can't compare the new and old ones. I'm really hoping he doesn't pegwarm - I can see maybe Captain Needa levels, where there's not a lot of him, but he's overstaying his welcome. I don't remember the old Malakili pegwarming, but I was just getting into SW at the time he was released.
Shit. I can't think of a good signature.

They should have sculpted the Rancor Keeper crying like a bitch.

They also still need to make a real Jabba.

Either I didn't know or completely forgot about the new AT-ST coming out, but I saw it at Walmart today. $43. They also had the Dewback. Barring the odd chance they both hit clearance and go for 50% off, I'm passing.

And after reading Anarky's thread about those Spiderman glasses at Ross, I decided to stop in if I happened to be by one. Well, I went to one today. They had 3 different Evolutions sets for $10.99 each. One had Darth Maul, one was the Rebel pilots with the green Twilek, and the last one was Darth Vader's apprentice. They also had a GI Joe set with Roadblock, Destro, and Lady Jane for $12.99.

I got half of the ANH wave. Chewbacca from Walmart and the Jawa, Scanning troop, and Hrchek Kal Fas from Target. Passed on the Han Solo both times. I'm planning on getting Boba Fett, the other cantina alien, and possibly R2.

Cool. Thanks for posting that. It figures they would add weapons, but it looks like they are hidden.

That prototype snowspeeder looks like some sort of crazy repaint for the late 80s-early 90s GI Joe line when it went to those funky colors.

I always thought it was a cool design, minus the coloration. The new City Strike Snake Eyes sorta looks like this in grey and black.
