We stopped by the Lego Store today and they had Soundwave on display. Soundwave himself looks good. Laserbeak looks ok, except his wings look small because his body is bulky. Ravage is way wider than the picture made him out to be. He looks kind of silly and reminded me more of the Voltron lion my brother had when we were kids.

Put my Blacktron Renegade together over the last few days. I see what you mean about the ‘hardpoint’ connections. I haven’t built either Invader/Cruiser yet, but I can see from the box what you’re talking about.

I super enjoyed the clever clasping mech to pick up the terrain rover vehicle. The landing gear is slightly annoying to dig out of the undercarriage of the ship, but it’s a minor annoyance. Overall, I’m delighted with having new sinister Blacktron Agents roaming the galaxy. Hope this Classic Space nostalgia trend continues. Rerelease the Monorail!!

I just ordered the Jaws set. I also redeemed some VIP points for a little moon-car spaceship thing. It’s like a 1960’s flying convertible with a spaceman pilot.

There’s also another Classic Space ‘Baby’ set thats also redeemable with VIP points. I’ll have to keep it in mind the next time I order something. It’ll go with the tiny Launch Pad set from last year(that I still haven’t put together)

My current ‘want’ list is now

Soundwave
Arkham Asylum
Barad-Dûr
Avengers Tower
D&D:Red Dragon’s Tale
X-Mansion
Botanical Garden
Robot World Roller Coaster
and the Modular Galactic Spaceship. It’s like $2700 worth of Lego. Only the Roller Coaster and Galactic Spaceship are under $100.

Potential upcoming sets I’ll be adding to the want list are the Enterprise and new Black Pearl, and whatever next year’s modular is.
Not to mention the BDP sets constantly either being voted on, pre-ordered, or getting shipped.

yeah, i redeemed points for the moon car, too, like the first day it was available - then freaked out because i wasn't sure if i waited to long to redeem the code and ordered the Mini Bonsai set with the moon car. THE DAY BEFORE THE SPACE BABY PROMO!!!! :frus:

so, of course, i caved and submitted another order to get the space baby: 2x each of "Miles Morales vs. The Spot" and "Peter Parker's Apartment". i plan on using the pieces and my assorted collection to build a custom "Marvel Modular" out of it with the first floor being the Bodega, the second floor being a random apartment, and the third floor being peter's apartment.

I recently found a basically unopened assortment bucket (10405) in the basement. I think it was an Xmas gift at the time and the idea I had was that we’d use the pieces for epic games of Creationary(which we played pretty often when my kids were school age). But that never happened; the kids grew up, we moved a couple times, and the Lego tub was inside another box hidden in a corner of the basement.

Between the bricks in the assortment, and a couple sets I have no intention of building(like that KPop BTS set, and the Ukulele etc) I think I have enough to make a decent Modular of…something.

Technically it should’ve been las mandibula.

At least “Teeth of the Sea” is roughly the correct translation.

Tiburon is just “Shark”. The movie isn’t called “Shark”.

Heh. It’s the French and Spanish names for the Jaws set.

gotcha, it was just such a non-sequitur without context i wasn't sure if it was a mispost that was intended for "what have you watched recently?" or if it was a follow-up to your "modular of... something" that would be, idk, the room where Quint scratches his nails on the keyboard?

I’ve been doing that a lot more recently. My wife will be talking about the difference between pythons and boa constrictors, and I’ll just randomly announce that niblings is the non-gender specific term for nieces and nephews.

But Lego related, I now have the Raiders Idol Temple set, the Jurassic Park Brontosaurus set, and now the Jaws set. Three Spielberg Lego sets. And I was trying to think of another Iconic Spielberg movie that could be a Lego set. Schindler's List…

So now there is going to be a Willy Wonka set?

They announced a new Lego Batman game that is supposed to span the movies, TV, comics, and games. The trailer has the music and a couple lines from Michael Keaton's era, and has the Joker's "why so serious?" line.

the Willy Wonka set was a LEGO Ideas winner.

i just recently discovered that my LEGO reviews were archived and not easily accessible anymore at the original site where i was doing them, so i found most, if not all, of them, saved them as local HTML pages, and will replicate them in this new sub-forum: https://asylum.vynsane.com/viewforum.php?f=47

The newer, bigger version of the Black Pearl (that for some reason they don’t refer to as the Black Pearl, nor are the words ‘black’ or ‘pearl’ mentioned anywhere in the description) will be available on 9/15.

Interesting feature that you can separate it at the ‘waterline’ for display purposes.

One of my bigger regrets is not buying the original version when it came out. I have the Imperial Flagship and the Queen Anne, but I think I was financially indisposed when the Pearl came out and didn’t have $100 to splurge on one Lego set. I almost coughed up $500 for one a couple years ago, but I had been reading scuttle this new one was a possibility.
